Posie please change your logo!
A bunch of flowers does not inspire strong women thoughts.
Hoping the rosettes will be purple/ white /green!

That’s £232,500 of lost green money?
wow

I know, what a waste when they could be spending it on defending discrimination cases and paying damages.

I think the roses logo is quite clever. Several of the same type of flower reflects that it is a single issue party and fits with the concept of a broad church in terms of who gets involved. Everybody likes roses and they are ubiquitous - just like women. Although I would have liked a thorn or two in there...

I remember people complaining about Sall Grover calling her app for women "Giggle". Fundamentally it's the same objection as here. But it's an app for women, not just for feminists. And this is the Party of Women, not the party of feminists. (WEP was supposed to be that!) Most women, KJK included, don't count themselves as feminists.
Additionally, many women connect strongly with flowers or plants. They like to think of themselves as beautiful and strong. Several national women's sports teams have "roses" in their name - the England Vitality Roses (netball), the Red Roses (England women's rugby). The Japanese women's football team is called Nadeshiko Japan - the nadeshiko represents womanly perfection (virtue, humility, blah blah) and was chosen by popular vote as the name for their women's football team. (I personally don't like the connotations, but there you go. I gather it is a very tough plant so I focus on that.) New Zealand's Black Ferns... I could go on. Ordinary women will relate.

That would be fantastic.

EasternStandard · 09/02/2024 16:13

Labour is a rose in the logo

It didn’t click immediately but just googled to check

Not saying it should mean anything for this but the idea felt familiar

Underthinker · 09/02/2024 16:18

I'm not great on horticulture but I guess the flowers in the logo are posies?
I think they look quite strong and symmetrical when compared to the Labour logo, almost having a military wings kind of feel.

domineastronomy · 09/02/2024 16:27

A posie isn't actually a species of flower but it means a single or small bunch.

The electoral commission registration shows a different emblem https://search.electoralcommission.org.uk/English/Registrations/PP17545

I like the POW logo there very much!

AlisonDonut · 09/02/2024 16:48

The Wars of the Roses hasn't passed me by.

Gosh it all happens the evening we have a power cut. I feel like I've woken up in a more real world today. KF back online, NHS giving up the Rainbows and KJK's party finally allowed. And Sharir Ali winning against the Green Party.

domineastronomy · 09/02/2024 16:51

I really like that second logo/emblem!

Ah ok sorry.

EasternStandard · 09/02/2024 16:56

I’m fine with the logo but i hope they’ve got the URL as the one below is the other party

I say this with interest not criticism I think what she’s doing is fantastic

DOBARDAN · 09/02/2024 16:59

Most pleasing news, well done KJK on your achievement, and I know you'll be having many more, all your hard work is paying off and your support is growing

PurpleBugz · 09/02/2024 17:13

Re the roses. To reference de Vinci code an inverted triangle is the symbol of woman? it's the shape of a womb

stealtheatingtunnocks · 09/02/2024 17:19

wombs arent triangular, but a merkin is.

Boiledbeetle · 09/02/2024 17:24

Ladies, Julia Long is back! On Twitter just atOnChairs
And of course supports POW
She and Kelli-Jay are queens. I admire both of them so and am pretty disgusted that the feminists who tore them down years ago for confronting the trans-identified male in Washington DC ( which I vividly remember) never apologized.

++ Who will pay KJK's lost deposit? ++

We will.

You beat me to it, I'd happily lose £100 to see her having a debate with Sirkier and have him wriggling like a worm on a hook.

It won't happen and you are wasting your money. The leaders of the five main parties (Labour, Tory, Lib Dem, SNP, Plaid) don't do televised debates with the leaders of micro parties.

They may not do a televised debate but KJK is high profile enough to cause Starmer some difficulties.

It will be bad optics to refuse to answer questions of a woman about women's rights.

Worth every penny of that deposit.

I am relieved that Starmer will be put to task on this. The more pressure he is under to actually say what Labour's position is the better.

I don't envy the bloke what with the formidable KJK on the one side & having to keep the TRAs happy on the other side.

But I don't feel sorry for him at all, if he would just do the right thing in the first place this would never have been necessary.

Well, you see, there's this thing called the hustings. And if he refused to answer her, he'd catch Hell in the press.

How will she get access to him to ask those questions, though? Standing in his constituency as the leader of a small and new party won't offer her any special privileges.

But we will see. Will follow with interest.

ETA: yes, true about hustings @SinnerBoy

WarriorN · 09/02/2024 18:36

Oh with the logo I was reading thorn in the side of Labour, as they have a red rose!

As Sinner Boy states in the hustings.

Locally she can cause a stir, as it is the prospective future prime ministers constituency there will be media interest.

He won't be able to avoid it without looking like he doesn't want to answer reasonable questions.

Aye, the local rag will be champing at the bit, never mind the Mail.
