Fabulous news well done KJK - I'm off to her shop to buy something to celebrate.....to add to my growing collection

IClaudine · 09/02/2024 10:47

Datun · 09/02/2024 10:43

Haha! True. But even they had a purpose. To satirise the government, and hold their feet to the fire.

And guess what, you've heard of them, and they were reported in every paper in the land.

That's all we need. We need people to understand the issues, and not just that, but to watch our politicians' petrified inability to address them.

They are actually still going and standing in the by elections next week.

lifeturnsonadime · 09/02/2024 10:47

IClaudine · 09/02/2024 10:37

Saying that she will lose her deposit is not an attempt to silence her, it is stating a fact!

It's a matter of interpretation.

Another one was you bringing up the Monster Raving Looney Party.

Do you think that women who have questions are raving loonies IClaudine?

Or don't you want Starmer to have to answer difficult questions?

lifeturnsonadime · 09/02/2024 10:50

I would have thought that everyone would want Starmer to have to answer even difficult questions on policies that impact women, after all we form 51% of the population. That's the way a democratic society should operate.

Well done KJK.

Datun · 09/02/2024 10:51

borntobequiet · 09/02/2024 10:34

Keir will refuse to debate KJK.

As an official candidate in a general election KJK will have visibility and a voice, on the doorstep, at hustings and in the media. This is how she will hold him to account.
I predict an awful lot of negative attention, smears and dirty tricks against her from various quarters. I hope she has good advisors.

I should imagine she is absolutely battle hardened by now.

Once you've been in danger of losing your life, and have just watched a truly violent criminal be convicted for threatening you, you probably know exactly what to expect.

But I agree, she'll need courage. Fortunately, and judging by her announcement, I don't think it's in short supply in the Keen household.

WickedSerious · 09/02/2024 10:51

SidewaysOtter · 09/02/2024 10:22

What “hatred” do you think will be “spewed” at transwomen then, @Hiphopopotamonster ?

Someone might have the audacity to mention that they're actually men.

Oh stop it. I said on the other thread that I think there are some legitimate issues that need to be considered. I have some common ground with you. I have never called GC women loonies, because I don't think they are in general.

I am not a fan of KJK though, so will leave you to celebrate and will watch with interest how she gets on.

EasternStandard · 09/02/2024 10:55

KJK has already been in the headlines

Some pro women some typically TRA

And she will generate more headlines. For those that criticise from behind the scenes it’s an incredible thing to do - to stand up for women in this way

Ramblingnamechanger · 09/02/2024 10:59

And there will hopefully be women willing to stand for this party in different areas…it will be interesting to see how the womanfesto will be decided..hopefully some consensus there.

There is a massive difference between 5% and 51% of the electorate minus 1 of course IClaudine

KnittedCardi · 09/02/2024 11:17

Can anyone point me in the direction of this story? Googling just brings up pages and pages of Pink News and other stories on the two failed attempts of the "right wing, anti-trans, nazi Posie Parker", and her many perceived short comings.

I am wondering whether the news item has been supressed somehow.

Keir sex fudge Starmer

I love fudge and now you've ruined it for me! 😂 😭

Supressed how?

I don’t follow but going by this thread and link I’d say it’s before she’s announced it on a video but is yet to send press releases to the media

Just a guess though

Snowypeaks · 09/02/2024 11:50

I think sections of the press might ignore her initially but the party will have a right to media exposure, so they won't be able to pretend this isn't happening.
Also there are some irresistible elements to this - KJK's big personality, the straight talking. I would love to know if she would be subject to BBC (for example) guidelines about language? In a debate with Keir Starmer - the physical contrast and the contrasting styles will be appealing to TV neews editors. The press will be hoping for soundbites and faux pas as well. There will be plenty of feminists lining up to trash her but this might actually help her. Feminists are not popular, even though society as a whole accepts many feminist ideas, albeit only in principle. Another factor in her favour is that many will underestimate her.

<clutches pearls>

Will there be hurt feelings? Will there be a risk of people feeling unsafe? Will there be <hushed gasp> LITERAL VIOLENCE?

There are lots of parties registered with the electoral commission. They don’t all get coverage. I wouldn’t bother trying to see conspiracies where they aren’t there. I suspect in the long run PP’s party will get lots of coverage. And possibly more than larger, more established parties

NotBadConsidering · 09/02/2024 12:11

Can’t wait to see how this unfolds.

LWSnow · 09/02/2024 12:23

Brilliant, I'm off to make a donation to her party

Many a hurty word will be uttered 'twixt now and polling day.

Calling it now....

Keir will refuse to debate KJK.

I'm confused, surely all of this is happening under a Tory Government? not a Labour one.

So logic would suggest to me that KJK should be debating with Sunak & asking him why, he is still allowing these diabolic practices to continue..

After all, its certainly not a done deal Starmer will win the next GE, just remember 1992.

WickedSerious · 09/02/2024 12:24

Support dogs and snack-filled safe spaces all round.

pronounsbundlebundle · 09/02/2024 12:40

I'm really really pissed off, and get angrier every time someone claims that saying men can't become women is 'hate' but somehow Katie Dolatowski sex crimes against two girls in toilets - let's not forget with no punishment for the first crime - is fine, and he gets his pronouns changed in news media whilst his victim's are assumed.

Or Andrew Miller's attack on a child, or Isla Bryson trying to get into women's prisons.

Every time men are called women it makes it easier for men like this.

I don't give a fuckity fuck if some man either thinks he knows what being a women feels like (he doesn't because he's not one) or get aroused by the idea as Hayton has admitted is the case for him, and wants everyone to join in with his fantasy. It's not as important as protecting children.

And I think it's worth calling a man a man every single time, even if it hurts 100s of men's feelings if it protects just one child from an attack such as Katie Dolatowski committed. In a toilet labelled 'women's'.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/02/2024 12:41

So maybe wait and see if she is going to look at recruiting party members let alone potential candidates to stand as the next GE!

She's said she will. She's still finalising the website.

pronounsbundlebundle · 09/02/2024 12:41

Posie will stand for women AND for child safeguarding. She's very strong on the protection of children, and more women and parents of all sexes too agree with her than the TRA crowd think. They're just scared to speak up - I think Posie's party will open the floodgates.
