I read a thread yesterday about NHS England withdrawing from the Stonewall Rainbow scheme, cue much gnashing of teeth about the loss of the gravy train in the diversity industry. So hopefully more money to spend on actual disabled and ill people,
I don't who was behind that , but it's happened under a Tory government

I had no issue with what Badenoch said

The sexism was shit though

Hence many pointing it out. @IClaudine not great at hearing why

It is not sexist to wonder about influences on a politician. Dennis Thatcher. Cherie Blair. Michelle Obama. All influences on their spouses.

And as @Blossomtoes said, all I did was quote Badenoch's own words. That seemed to touch a nerve with you all.

I am not a sexist, a man or an MRA as I have been accused of. I just don't happen to fall completely into line with your views.

I will follow KJK's progress with interest. And Badenoch's. I truly don't think she is the ally of women that you think she is and I think that truth will emerge when she is Tory leader.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 10/02/2024 17:24

This is something KB has been critical in developing. Guidelines about gender questioning children in schools. These will will return those foolish schools captured by transactivists to places where safeguarding is a priority and no child will be forced to undress, shower, sleep alongside the opposite sex. Schools will be forbidden to defy the law of the land by removing parental rights and transitioning their children in secret from them.
Funnily enough transactivists are fuming about them 🙄

And yet you went with a female first

So people pulled you up on it. It’s ok to get it wrong and think yeh that was a bit sexist and shit

And again no issue with Badenoch’s quote, you’re reaching on that. It was your sexism we objected to

LWSnow · 10/02/2024 17:25

Yeah what sort of person thinks safeguarding is a bad thing?

Because you were all talking about Badenoch and her work. It reminded me of her "he pays for my home" quote and how I found it curious that she put it like that.

You still are entirely clueless on what I did post

Because you are too lazy to bother reading more and blinded by loyalty to Labour

Good to know

I’ve already said I’ll probably spoil my ballot. So no blind loyalty to Labour. Have another try. (Still no comment on prioritising those initiatives I see. Must be. What’s the phrase? Ah yes ‘blind loyalty’)

lifeturnsonadime · 10/02/2024 17:32

There's a bit of a theme on this thread that I've notice of trying to cast aspersions on women who are vocally trying to defend women's rights.

KJK and Kemi are treated in a similar way, the reasons are obvious when you think about it.

I listed what you should look up

I have a feeling you can only post to me not Google. I don’t know why but bloody hell…

Yeah what sort of person thinks safeguarding is a bad thing?

Oooh - I know. The transactivist Cashman in the House of Lords - in his own words:

Anyone wants to register their own party and show KJK how it's done, feel free.

Anyone who wants to call her up and tell her where she is going wrong, can do so almost every bloody Tuesday night.

Don't be so mean and horrid to the right-on TROSH woke bros, you big meanie!

Garlickit · 10/02/2024 20:55

What does TROSH stand for?

AlisonDonut · 10/02/2024 20:58

TRSOH - The Right Side of History.

Those polls always ask about ‘transgender’ issues

Even I don’t want to be asked about that. And I care about women.

Ask me about women’s rights, single sex spaces

Ask if men should be in women’s sports

Ask if a woman can have a penis

Anything but do you care about ‘trans issues’. I don’t really actually care about their issues. The men can sort those out.

Very well said.

Emotionalsupportviper · 10/02/2024 21:17

IClaudine · 10/02/2024 15:25

Probably a good idea to remember that the sun shines on everyone...

And some of us can welcome it

Emotionalsupportviper · 10/02/2024 21:21

IClaudine · 10/02/2024 15:29

It's the tories, in the shape of Kemi Badenoch, who are trying to get this under control. But they are hampered by the laws. And a lot of cowardly, sexist MPs, of course

I don't think Badenoch is the friend to women you think she is. I think she has a very traditional out look beyond her stance on trans issues. Husband Hamish seems to be a big influence over her. Not too sure about his politics, does anyone here know much about him?

The balance of her personal relationship is her business - no-one else's.

In her professional life she is a champion of women's hard-won rights, and that is all that is of interest to me.

IwantToRetire · 10/02/2024 22:11

Yet again a thread has been derailed by someone who isn't actually interest in the purpose of the thread, but to endlesslly talk about their particular bug bear.

In this instance KB. So not only is this really rude in terms of what the thread is meant to be helping to consider, raise issues about, but exposes how fraudulent posting about KB is on this thread, when there have been 2 (or it might be 3) threads based on newspaper interviews with her.

But strangely no interest in posting there. Probably because that would mean having to engage with facts rather than fantasy.

I am not a tory and KB has some policies I disagree with but the uniformed arrogance of casually assuming she is the pawn of her husband is not only disrespectful to her, but to this thread by lowering it to uninformed gossip.

Given some of the hardships she has had to face (let alone being a woman and Black in the Tory Party) to have got as far as she had is fairly astonishing.

And as recent events have shown she not only thinks things through but follows up on them.

Why would anyone think that making silly lazy slurs means that they are contributing to a discussion, or that based on something so implausibly stupid will mean anyone will pay any attention.

And I suspect this lazy self indulgence will mean not bothering to check the index of recents thread on FWR to then go and get the links to the articles. Added to which it will mean having to face the fact of posting irrelevancies.

But maybe that was the point.

Diverting attention from KJK and her new political party.

LWSnow · 10/02/2024 23:26

I hope KJK starts to get the donations rolling in, I'd like to be a member of her party, I hope she's giving out membership cards and a leaflet pack

MatchingBedding · 11/02/2024 00:27

I’ve had a few conversations in the real world about KJKs new party. The overwhelming response I have had was “clever clever lady”. She’s not doing this to win a seat, or go head to head with Kier Starmer. She’s far too smart for any of this. She’s a bit smart isn’t she.

IwantToRetire · 11/02/2024 01:24

Posted yesterday but for those looking for more info:

Who can stand as an MP?
https://www.parliament.uk/about/mps-and-lords/members/electing-mps/candidates/

Depending on how soon a GE is called there may not be time to set up a Party that has all the mechanisms for agreeing a womanfesto, ie just one single issue or ...

So nothing to stop anyone standing as an in sympathy independent!

Apart from raising the £500 deposit, finding an Agent seems to be something that might need thinking about. Otherwise it is just you and your leaflets knocking on people's doors or on a hustings platform.

(I am sure KJK - with the help of others - will get the Party up and running in time for the GE. Just imagine all the major broadcasters wanting to be at KS vote count - and everyone who stands has the right to make a speech after the results are announced. Sounds like the chance for a gathering of women and disnasors to make some noise!)

MatchingBedding · 11/02/2024 01:40

@IwantToRetire brilliant! Thanks. Honestly do we just need £500 to be a candidate? I am sure I could ask my husband 😂
