Why Kemi Badenoch particularly?

I quoted Starmer who says he relies on his wife as a sounding board

I am wary of Badenoch because she probably has the most potential of the current crop of Tories to replace Sunak. I think she is very right wing, and it troubles me greatly. I also suspect she is anti-abortion.

Deary me, there's a lot of rattled posters on this thread.
im a floating voter.
if I was in Rosie Duffields constituency I'd vote Labour
If I was in Keirs I'd vote for the party of women
And as my conservative candidate, Rebecca Paul is GC I'll be voting Tory.
its a simple as that, I'll vote for the person who represents me the most.

I think this will be the position of a lot of floating voters. I have never voted conservative in my life, but to be fair, my MP is conservative and she is actually very helpful and responsive. I don't know who the labour candidate is, but I will be asking the same questions that I asked of the very TWAW labour canvasser who came round last year before the local elections. I was unimpressed then, so it remains to be seen whether my opinion will change.

I don’t care how ‘wary’ you are of her your comments were sexist

She is no more influenced by her partner than others, as Starmer’s quote indicates

That’s why pp have drawn conclusions on your lack of pro women stance

NoWordForFluffy · 10/02/2024 16:16

We're Tory here right now. The issue I have with voting Labour here is that, even if the prospective Labour MP is GC and doesn't believe TWAW etc, is he going to be willing to stick his head above the parapet to potentially vote with biological reality if whipped against it?

So I don't think I could risk it.

Whatever you think of her politics it’s pretty grubby and sexist to try to suggest she’s under the thumb of her husband in that way 🙄

i Don’t agree with all of her politics either but I do agree that the Equality Act should be tightened for the safety of women? What’s your opinion on that I Claudine?

Look up sex definition request to EHCR and Baroness Falkner case

If you think turning this tanker against invested institutions will be fast think again

And which Labour senior politician are you relying on to challenge as Badenoch does?

No name yet from anyone, maybe you have one?

You seem to have omitted the legislation that has been led on by KB. KB first asked advice on this at the beginning of last year. I presume proposals for change were included in the King's Speech 6 months later?

My MP is a Tory who supports a ban on conversion therapy in all cases and wants to 'protect trans kids'. My frequent correspondence with him suggests he has no interest in women.

JC I answered already did you look it up? It won’t be fast.

And name for someone in Labour?

NoWordForFluffy · 10/02/2024 16:25

Who are you thinking of voting for then, @BackToLurk?

I imagine I'll be spoiling my ballot again

NoWordForFluffy · 10/02/2024 16:28

I've only done that in locals. I'd prefer not to in a GE if possible. 🤞

Tonia Antoniazzi would I suppose be the most likely. I missed the actual legislation, rather than the worthless words.

Probably because you looked up jack shit

Labour squash challenge so good luck with that

Notaflippinclue · 10/02/2024 16:32

There are good men in the world some are our partners who support everything we do - so what - we are the lucky ones - KJK seems to have one - so what

Edited

You could just tell me what legislation KB has introduced. Or will you be resorting to a TRA style ‘educate uourself’?

Wasn’t there some stuff about KJK’s husband’s company being very ‘rainbowy’. Probably unwise to get to hung up on what people’s partners do.

You are lazy 😂 I have given you information which you can paste into a search engine and read. Have you? No just posting again 😬

It won’t be fast. Do you think it can happen overnight?

It won’t. KB is one of the few trying to turn the tanker. You can get rid of her but good luck with Labour, they’ll keep going with gender and you can enjoy that Canada style

BIossomtoes · 10/02/2024 16:45

EasternStandard · 10/02/2024 15:48

Ha it’s what you posted

😂

What a blind spot bigger than the sun rn

She quoted Badenock. It’s hardly @IClaudine’s fault you don’t like what she says, is it?

EasternStandard · 10/02/2024 16:48

I get the impression if KB hasn’t whipped up legislation faster than anyone, plus worked against all the institutions trying to challenge then that’s it gone

Where on earth do people think challenge will come from with Labour in and no KBs motivated enough to put loads into it?

We’ll be up shit creek and welcome to gender life like so many other countries

Depressing. When it’s all gone to full on gender idiocy don’t be surprised and complain. You could have some lovely hate crime laws to stop you anyway

EasternStandard · 10/02/2024 16:49

I had no issue with what Badenoch said

The sexism was shit though

Hence many pointing it out. @IClaudine not great at hearing why

I’ve looked. I’ve searched the King’s Speech. I haven’t found the proposed legislation I’ve suggested maybe you could highlight it. You seem unable to. Meanwhile you blithely ignore KB actually leading on making access to a GRC more simple, and stating that the government would ‘prioritise initiatives’ to make life easier for LGBT people. Weirdly I get the idea you wouldn’t ignore a Labour politician who was ‘prioritising’ such initiatives.

You’re not interested in challenges within Labour- and they are there from CLP level upwards - you’re too tribal.

Did I mention the King’s Speech? No I listed other things to look up, do that?

Get rid of a senior politician dedicated to this and wonder later why no one is speaking up for women. Good luck.

And wrong challenges in Labour interest me - look at how the party treated Rosie Duffield. Try to go against gender and your political career will be attacked

It’s not hidden it’s plain as day, but go for Labour do what you want, you’ve already decided. Don’t moan later.

So no actual legislation (or do you think the King’s Speech is just the name of a film). And no comment on KB and the government prioritising initiatives to make life easier for LGBT people. A position you’d presumably equally comfortable with the LP taking.

Good to know

You still are entirely clueless on what I did post

Because you are too lazy to bother reading more and blinded by loyalty to Labour

And to people under the impression that she's too obscure to be heard. Much as I wish it was different, I don't think it will be her viewpoint that makes the headlines, it will be the viewpoint that she exposes in others.

At this point, that's important, as it will expose the barmy views of certain influential people to a wider audience. KJK used to be reported by and BTL as a nutty feminazi in the Mail.

180° on that now!
