Also he's a barrister so used to meticulously planning a counter argument, so he will do that in advance with his party. It's not particularly hard to anticipate what Posie is going to say.

The problem for Starmer is that there are no clever arguments to counter common sense and a belief in reality. Anything he says will expose the shaky foundations of his ideology.

This is why the dirty tricks and smear brigade will be deployed as soon as possible.

Maybe he's not going to try to win that argument. Maybe he will stick to the party line (women = adult human female, protect spaces for biological women, keep the GRA for TW where biology isn't relevant) and then talk about the concrete things his party is doing for women. That's what I'd do if I was him. Most voters agree with the Labour policy on this, and I doubt Posie will have any compelling policy on actual actions to support women.

Well we will have to agree to disagree on PMQs. I would characterise Starmer as disgusted/offended rather than riled - I have a thread you can join to discuss it with me.

I can't help you with your reading comprehension, sorry. Clearly there are infinite options, KJK could have a damascene conversion on finding her husband is trans and be full on TWAW, she could turn up in a dinosaur costume and recite one of hairycarrots poems, she could get injured by a low flying pigeon on the way to hustings, the possibilities are endless...I'm not clairvoyant though so I just picked a couple of likely ones to throw into the debate.

Nothing wrong with my comprehension. Comprehension is understanding the written word in front of you, not being clairvoyant about a poster's unwritten meaning! I perfectly understood what you wrote; I can't be expected to understand what you didn't. 🤷‍♀️

Starmer weaponised a teenager's violent murder. There was no need to bring it up at all.

EasternStandard · 10/02/2024 11:25

My suggestion to KJK would be ask which spaces do Labour think are ‘reasonable’ when it comes to male access

Although I have no doubt she can ask great questions that get to the heart of the lies

Looking forward to bluntness

AdamRyan · 10/02/2024 11:26

Most people aren't that interested in the extreme end of a debate in real life. They are more interested in how policies will directly positively affect them.

There is a danger in spending all day on the Internet that you think Internet debate is real life.

I'm sure this will benefit KJKs personal brand and keep her in demand for media appearances 🤑

But as for being relevant to UK politics, nah. Don't see it.

lifeturnsonadime · 10/02/2024 11:27

Alternatively she's going to look stupid at the hustings. I think Starmer will be very used to responding to the kinds of things she might bring up, he's a top flight barrister after all. It's a bit different to debating idiots like Adrian Harrop.

Oh Adam, you are funny.

Most people don't believe that 0.01 % of women have a penis. The fact that he's a 'top flight' barrister doesn't mean people will believe that women can have penises!

Most people believe that women should have rights and that women's spaces should be just for women, not for women and whichever male wants to claim to be a woman.

Some of the posts on here smack of desperation to be honest.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/02/2024 11:27

You just can't help yourself, can you? Snide comments constantly about KJK.

How do you know most voters agree with Labour policy on this? It's a policy with splinters up its arse trying to appease two sides with polar opposite aims is what it is.

EasternStandard · 10/02/2024 11:31

Enough were interested in Isla Bryson

Plus comments about Starmer having no clue and cowardly. Even his own party

It all builds

There’s some strong attack lines going on by pp, I’d say they give a lot more thought to KJK than they’d admit

borntobequiet · 10/02/2024 11:33

She has a clear definition of the meaning of “woman”, without which it’s not possible to support women in any meaningful way.

I think there are concerns about sunlight. And potentially that they may find out that the assumptions they've made about Labour's policies in this area have been wrong, and there is no real protection for women incoming.

lifeturnsonadime · 10/02/2024 11:34

Most people aren't that interested in the extreme end of a debate in real life. They are more interested in how policies will directly positively affect them.

Having robust laws to keep males out of single sex spaces are not the extreme end of the debate.

Were I Posie Parker I'd ask the top flight barrister how he believes (the current labour position) that Males with a GRC can be kept out of spaces reserved under the Single Sex exemptions in the Equality Act when they have the legal protection of both the protected characteristics of Sex and Gender Reassignment. Because I don't believe they can without an amendment to the Equality Act? He's a lawyer he understand's the issue here, yet he claims there isn't one.

I'd further ask him how, when most providers can't ask for a copy of the GRC due to the wording of the Equality Act this is not self ID through the back door.

I'd pull him up on the fact the Tories have recognised the issue but the Labour Party have not.

You may think that these things are 'the extreme end of the debate' @AdamRyan , but these matters impact 51 % of the population.

borntobequiet · 10/02/2024 11:35

Most people aren't that interested in the extreme end of a debate in real life.

Most people prefer debates that focus on what is real and true, rather than ideological nonsense.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 10/02/2024 11:37

KJK will expose Starmer's weak point. A man who blusters that "it shouldn't be said that only women have a cervix" or that 99% of women don't have a penis is not in control of the narrative. There's been a massive shift in public understanding in the last year with sport, the stream of vile male sexual crimes being attributed to women and the overreach by transactivists in targeting children in schools. Many more people now understand the problem and are not impressed at what's happening. KJK will exploit this.

As someone who would like to vote Labour (like so many on here) I welcome that. If Labour are forced to start caring about safeguarding children against age inappropriate ideology, are embarrassed into supporting Cass when the final report drops and will finally rein in the MRAs /TRAs currently hounding women out of the party then that would be progress.

KJK is the woman to push Starmer off that bloody fence.

EasternStandard · 10/02/2024 11:54

I’m not sure where this idea comes from that Starmer is some linguistic powerhouse anyway in front of a camera

He gets incredibly nervous as shown by the clip where he mucked up on a basic family question

That’s nerves

KJK looks more immune than that

Mnhq - this is a post on his nervousness not his dc)

NoWordForFluffy · 10/02/2024 12:00

Having watched some of the hearing in relation to the proroguing of parliament, the (now) KCs presenting evidence in that had appalling oratory skills, umming, ahhing and stumbling over their words all over the shop. So it's not clear cut at all that Starmer would fare better!

IClaudine · 10/02/2024 12:04

Has KJK ever properly debated with someone with opposing views? If so where can I find it, please.

borntobequiet · 10/02/2024 12:04

As someone who would like to vote Labour (like so many on here)

This includes me.

BezMills · 10/02/2024 12:09

Lovely to see such a busy thread, and it is attracting so many new posters to FWR. Welcome one and all. Let's keep the thread nicely bumped and keep PP and her new party being discussed.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/02/2024 12:19

Barristers don't debate, by the way. They present information and ask questions of witnesses.

Yes and you can see how the impact of a tv studio can make some struggle

From what I’ve seen of KJK she relishes fast and in the spot light on tv stuff

Not many are naturally good at it or could do the same

WandaWomblesaurus · 10/02/2024 12:23

AdamRyan · 10/02/2024 11:08

OK, so Posie is going for floating voters who would usually vote Labour because of this issue. Therefore reducing Labour's vote share and increasing the chances the Tories will get in. Great. That's going to really help women

I hope she has some policies other than "women don't have penises" or she's going to look like a fool

But women don't have penises, Adam.

motheronthedancefloor · 10/02/2024 12:29

how does one become a member, view the party manifesto, see where someone is standing etc? I'm not an expert obviously in the process of starting parties.

IClaudine · 10/02/2024 12:32

Hope you enjoy this as much as the rest of us did!

Yes, it's very likely that sophistry will be his undoing.

On their manifesto, they could do worse than Attila the Stockbroker's "Away Day."

Our slogan, manifesto and programme are BOLLOCKS TO THAT!
