Help me with an argument re adult transwomen please

I was having a conversation with my sister about why transwomen should be in women's spaces. She's open to the conversations but thinks 'it's complicated'.
I was saying that under no circumstances do I want a bloke in my changing room/toilet/hospital ward/rape crisis centre/sports team.

She works for a large bank and there are a couple of transwomen who work there. They're older, more of the old school transsexual and possibly have a GRC (or would certainly go through the effort of getting one).

She feels that if they have a GRC they should be able to use the ladies loo as having gone through the process of getting a GRC means they're somehow vetted and therefore no safeguarding risk to women. I feel that they just need to go in the mens.

How do you 'be kind' to the genuine gender dysphoric men out there if they would genuinely be distressed by asking to use the ladies loo? Or is it just that you can't be?

My hunch is that you can't be, and sorry but just use the mens, but I'm interested in the other side to the debate?

You can't vett a man ahead of time if he is likely to rape or assault a woman or girl.

For that reason, single sex spaces exist, to exclude male bodied people, because they might pose a threat to women and children.

To the poster who said there are mixed toilets in Europe and a lack of SA - this is not true. I went to Prague and a man felt me up as I was in the loos puking my guts out. Luckily a friend was there and pushed him off me. So disgusting.

I must admit I used to have the same view as your sister - if someone had had the full surgery than I was OK about them using woman's facilities.
What changed my mind was watching a debate where one woman explained that for victims of sexual assault they could be triggered by a transwoman with male traits/characteristics ie deeper voice etc entering what is meant to be their safe space.
I also don't see how you can police things - transpeople with pieces of paper confirming they have physically changed sex? Sounds too personal for me.
I don't see why society can't have two toilets - one for mixed sex and one for biological women.

For those who see no problem with men in women's spaces do you ever wonder why they exist at all? All over the world we built two of everything. Why do you think that is?

If you're right then the whole world acted irrationally there. Some kind of mass insanity that started around the 1700s in many countries at once and spread across the world.

Or alternatively those who argue against privacy and safety for women are missing something crucial.

It's a toilet. It's private. Unlike ladies changing rooms which are not so much. If there is a massive queue for the ladies I will use the mens. I have no problem with this as it's just a toilet.
I don't see the problem here. Can someone explain it to me ?

I'll bet all of the blokes standing at the urinals loved that!
