Transgender row at Science Museum over claims reworked exhibit is 'even more insidious'

The Science Museum has reinstated a transgender exhibit initially removed following complaints it was ignoring biology.

A controversial cabinet featuring a fake penis and chest-binding equipment <a class="break-all" href="https://archive.ph/o/lEpZs/www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/01/17/science-museum-trans-display-remove-propaganda-complaints/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">was taken down after accusations it was pushing gender-ideological “propaganda”, but an updated exhibit has now been installed.

However, gender-critical campaigners said the reworked version was “more insidious” and pushes a “sexist view of the world”.
With its original title of the “Boy or Girl?” removed, the display cabinet explains why some people transition to their preferred gender, and how puberty blockers are sometimes used to achieve this.
A sign on the display in the museum’s Who Am I? gallery, which covers various aspects of biology from DNA to ageing, states “some people’s gender doesn’t match the sex they were born into”.

It adds that “they may make changes to live their life in a way that better aligns to that identity. This is sometimes called transition.”
<a class="break-all" href="https://archive.ph/o/lEpZs/www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/01/08/science-museum-boards-display-early-human-migration-non-inclusive/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">The cabinet includes personal testimony from a transgender man and woman, who state respectively that they have “experience living as both male and female” and that transition was “liberating”.
The updated display also includes the testimony of a non-binary person, who describes the “relief” at “learning living outside the gender binary was possible”.

Displays state that <a class="break-all" href="https://archive.ph/o/lEpZs/www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/11/26/use-of-puberty-blockers-doubled-since-nhs-clampdown/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">puberty blockers are sometimes used to arrest the onset of adult development for children unsure of their gender identity, adding that such intervention is “complex and has raised debate”.

Idiots!

It just calls into question what other ideological nonsense exhibits they have self-identifying as science.

It's like that book on female biology with incongruous paragraphs of Right Think inserted (either by the frightened author or a sensitivity reader) it doesn't just affect those paragraphs on that issue, it calls into question the expertise and research of the whole book.

You can't just rope it off as an individual exhibit where someone takes a different political stance on a controversial issue, it completely rocks the foundation the place is built on. Like a creationist exhibit in a the natural history museum casually mentioning that God created everything in 6 days.

What is most depressing is that they felt entitled to perform this act of deceit.

Or rather think the GC observations are irrelevant and dont need to be reflected, and if they just slipped it out nobody would notice and they would get their platform to promote a one sided agenda.

Or maybe the Telegraph isn't being totally balanced and there are all sorts of exhibits about the biological reality of sex.

Is the Science Museum now identifying as the Non-Science Museum? @Fukuraptor great analogy with natural history museum

Well yes.

One of the things that happens when people realize something like this is going on, is they begin to question what they are told about all the hot political issues.

Aren't NB identifiers just approved GC believers as neither believe in gender being binary as it's a social construct designed to favour men and keep us women in our place.
If they want an exhibit then it should also show the harms done by medical interference and have the testimony of detransitioners alongside for balance
