A young straight couple explain their radical, "gender queering" sex life which involves the man putting on tights and "coming really fast" while the woman is "trans masculine" (she cut her hair short) and unable to orgasm because she's on anti-depressants.

What an inspiring story for us all.

I don't see what the problem with this article is. And the op conflates him putting on tights and having sex. I don't see that in the article.

The person certainly gives the impression that so called ‘cis’ people have rather unimaginative sex lives. Sounds a little naive. However the thought of a big burly bloke in a pair of tights, is a usual turn on so I will give them that.

I did read the article, and it was a lot of words to say, our sex life is exactly like most other heterosexual couples but we're calling it a queered sex life, so we're different!

My DP and I didn't have sex the other night. We kissed and cuddled in bed for about half an hour. Are we queer as well now? He didn't wear my tights though, so maybe not.

They are both described as bisexual although I suppose it’s hard to know what that means here.

An awful lot of these much-touted unconventional queer sex lives seem to involve little to no sex. Funny that.

Depressing? It was hilarious, they have a completely shit sex life and have managed to reframe it into something they think is aspirational via buzzwords and denial. I do think the Catholic church has a lot to answer for in Jacob's case though which is sad.

That's a good point. They talked about how being queer meant that they weren't restricted to penetrative sex. Again, I'm not queer and we have really rather good non-PIV sex quite often.

The article mentioned that the woman had mental health problems and that piv sex was uncomfortable for her so they weren't having much sex. Maybe they need to try more cuddles and cunnilingus, and see if being prioritised in the relationship made her feel a bit better.

That's more about a couple's sex life than I needed to know! They'd be better spending their time with a decent counsellor than all the navel gazing they are doing about how they are defying the messages of their fucked up sex education when younger.
