Raising awareness of a very damming report that will be released tomorrow by the woman's rights network based on many FOI requests.

Anyone know what the report will be about?

If you can watch the film on Twitter, Heather outlines roughly what it's about. Further details released tomorrow.

Something that "potentially impacts all women and girls in the U.K. especially the most vulnerable."

Particularly impacts female civil servants in the U.K.

State sanctioned sexual abuse was mentioned I think?
Not sure whether that's male rapists in prisons, the same on hospital wards with unconsenting women? Maybe men being allowed by sports governing bodies to share changing rooms with undressed women swimmers and athletes with the resulting increase in sexual crimes?

Or maybe something else? So much breaching of women and girl's boundaries happening in the name of "equality & inclusion" it's hard to keep up.

WarriorN · 07/01/2024 16:36

Yes she did say that MrsO. And we could see it being any one of those things I'm sure

Men being allowed to carry out intimate searches on women in custody?

Female prison officers?

Cathy Larkman, who is with WRN and is a former police superintendent, raised the issue a while back about a police document that said it's absolutely fine for a male officer to intimately search a woman so long as he says he has girly feelings.

They also totally supported the flip-flop approach to gender identity - laydee one shift, bloke the next.

I read it at the time - it was concerned only with the male staff, no thought given to women. Knock me down with a feather.

PronounsBaby · 07/01/2024 19:47

I'm very interested to see what it is exactly.

Tallisker · 07/01/2024 19:49

She said public servants, not civil servants. So that's NHS, police, armed forces, local government, teachers, university staff, firefighters etc etc

Yes and it's amazing

Karensalright · 07/01/2024 19:58

my god sounds shocking

BettyFilous · 07/01/2024 20:04

I will watch with interest. If it as damning as signalled, it is very well timed ahead of the imminent ?UN visit in February to assess how the UK is complying with its CEDAW obligations.

I saw this on Twitter earlier, very intrigued as to what it's about...

Oh, thanks for the correction. Bloody hell, I have no idea what it is but sounds huge.

Had time to watch it more closely: "state sanctioned sexual assault" would certainly fit here.

We should all be angry. I’m spitting feathers for sure

stealtheatingtunnocks · 07/01/2024 22:13

Men being allowed to carry out intimate searches on women in custody?

That was my first thought sadly. My second was smear tests.
