"Transphobic bullying is rife": 15 y/o trans boy's view of coming out at school

A rare and refreshing example of the mainstream media actually publishing a young trans person's own words on the subject of their own existence and how the government's draft guidance is likely to affect the people it directly pertains to.

I'm visibly physically female

You are either female or you are not.

Sticking a fake pair of tits on doesn't make you female.

TV make up artists can do great illusions but it still doesn't make a male actor female.

Visibly physically female is a load of rot, and if you actually believe this, you really do disrespect women. Because you clearly regard women as nothing more than an aesthetic.

I'm sure 19 year old me would have been relieved to hear you say that while re-adjusting her bra strap from being groped by yet another drunken dickhead for the third time that week.

I don't actually care whether you believe trans people possess whatever magical genetic/natal genital (the goalposts always seem to shift whenever one is discredited) essence makes a person actually truly really really actually male or female. Denying the very familiar harms caused by actual misogynists when they evidently do think someone is female, however, is hopefully a low you won't sink to.

I don’t really know why I’m still trying, but here we go….

@ButterflyHatched do you think it would be ok to make an open changing room mixed sex? If not, why not?

catduckgoose · 28/12/2023 23:13

Female is anyone who gets groped by drunken men? These redefinitions are getting wilder and wilder.

WomanXXWorldsOriginsofMothersofAllNations · 28/12/2023 23:13

@ButterflyHatched

you said

”I am also heavily involved in bringing up a pair of children who are about to reach the age where gender begins to become something they are consciously aware of. I hope both of them can grow up without having to have the rough ride I did, but it's possible that they have also inherited the same genetic mutation I have, and it is separately possible they might turn out to be trans”

Are you saying you inherited a genetic mutation that made you trans, or you have a genetic mutation and are also trans?

Who are these children possibly inheriting this same mutation from?

If it is the genetic mutation that made you trans, does this mean it can be diagnosed? And is it the same mutation for all trans individuals?

So we are on the same page I’m using this for the definition of genetic mutation: A genetic mutation is a change in a sequence of your DNA. Your DNA sequence gives your cells the information they need to perform their functions. If part of your DNA sequence is in the wrong place, isn't complete or is damaged, you might experience symptoms of a genetic condition.

JanesLittleGirl · 28/12/2023 23:16

Let us all just accept that Butterfly , as a result of having PAIS, and then receiving puberty blockers, hormone treatment and surgery, is observably female.

I am happy for Butterfly that they can move among us without causing us concern. What I don't understand is how this confluence of miracles qualifies Butterfly to tell us how the world should be rearranged so that any child that is unsure about how they fit into the world should be sent down a path of medicalisation.

WomanXXWorldsOriginsofMothersofAllNations · 28/12/2023 23:18

And also 😵‍💫 at “magical genetic/natal genital essence”

What’s dis now?

RedToothBrush · 28/12/2023 23:19

I'm sorry, but you don't get to speak for women. I must admit its interesting how you think you can - and can dictate who gets to use female facilities without anyone elses input. Cos women's voices aren't as important as yours.

Then you say you can't speak for other trans people and then say you must have the same needs, thus co-opting them into your narrative without their consent anyway, cos thats what its really about.

You. And your narrative.

No one elses. Just yours. Everything is about you.

Your lack of self awareness is staggering.

When you start to talk about misogny, its not about what happens to women on mass and how awful it is. Nope its all about incidents related to you. Fascinating that.

With that in mind, here's a little reminder - every time you type we see misogyny and you don't get to decide what misogny is. Cos you aren't a woman.

The idea that you think you can say you know all about misogyny because you had a bra strap pinged says a hell of lot.

For starters a bloke, would do that to anyone wearing a bra. Even other blokes. Its not necessarily cos you passed as a female. I love how you get validation off that though. Oh dear.

And secondly if you think knowing about bra pinging, means you have a shared experience with women and you understand misogyny because of that. Oh dear. Oh dear.

You have NO IDEA.

Its really really sad that you are DESPARATE to demonstrate that you've been a victim of misogyny so you can do a 'gotcha' at us. But once again its only serving to prove the opposite.

I just can't get past the disingenuousness of someone claiming that sex is some sort of made up essence, the goalposts of which keep being shifted specifically to exclude trans people, and at the same time apparently believing that gender identity is real.

No, mate. Sex is what sex has always been. Female has always meant the childbearing sex and has never included male.

Gender identity is the made up essence which keeps shifting to mean whatever the hell the trans lobby wants it to mean this week. To most of us it's made up poppycock.

Loving this heavily researched area of genetic mutations where you can be trans. Despite the sheer resistance of all research of this kind. And a total lack of any evidence that such young kids are remotely trans.

It is in no way co-opting a couple of kids to try and support a narrative that suits the writer.

Fascinating.

Oh, you actually did and all.

Shall I try and list every single other time in the last two decades of my life that I've experienced misogyny just so you can minimise them all in turn? I don't think there's room in this thread and I lost count a very, very, very long time ago. Congratulations on actually pulling 'oh you're a woman? Name every time you've experienced misogyny'.

What's that now? Five times?

You will never get an answer to this. Because butterfly wants to be the only male who can utilise women in their own spaces.

Never mind that by doing so butterfly is opening up all women's spaces to every predator in the land. Butterfly will never admit that this is what they are doing.

Seriously, every single transactivist who writes on here says exactly the bloody same. They all pass, they are all victims of misogyny and/or sexism, blah blah blah.

Even Robin mora wright had a story about a pass in a supermarket. Ffs.

Some are more upfront than others, of course. We had Paris Lees telling us how validating and hot it is to be treated like a piece of meat and the thrill of All The Sexism.

The entire narrative of I'm a woman, because I get treated badly by men, whilst treating women badly, absolutely radiates misogyny so blinding, you can see it from space.

RedToothBrush · 29/12/2023 00:00

Butterfly, you need identity props to signal who you are and to create a performance of what you say you are. You have to keep doing that - trying to demonstrate that your lie is real. The story in the OP is a prop. Its co-opting a very different group and making it all about your identity. And there are numerous other examples of this on this thread.

Women don't need any of that. They have nothing to prove. Cos they aren't lying.

Thats a simple and as complicated as it gets.

We all see it and know it, and there nothing you can do to change that.

And thats what REALLY grinds your gears and why you lash out at us for. And why we see the misogyny.

Aha, you found a phrasing that wasn't directly insulting and is only indirectly insulting instead!

I despise open changing rooms and have never not done so. I'm really not the right person to answer this - I'd still avoid them like the plague.

So YOU'D avoid them like the plague and but you are happy to force women to avoid them by allowing men in them rather than defend women's right to them - even though you say you are a woman. Right'o.

Funny how you don't see that as a fight worthy of your attention as a woman and are happy for existing women's rights to be eroded - the ones you aren't getting a benefit from.

See this is what we can spot from space.

The question is insulting? I’ve heard it all now.

And it’s a simple question. You’re advocating for open (as opposed to single stall wall to floor) changing rooms to be mixed sex. You avoid them but you’re happy for other males to be in them. Why?

ButterflyHatched · 29/12/2023 00:10

Since we've inexorably circled round to the subject of trans women in single sex facilities, here are the words of a woman (don't worry, she has the magic female genetic - or was that natal genital? - sex essence so you don't have to ignore her on principle) who can phrase the matter far better than I can:

Butterfly is apparently using the redefinition of misogyny that Julia Serano coined in his book Whipping Girl:

"For the purposes of this manifesto, the word misogyny will be used to describe this tendency to dismiss and deride femaleness and femininity."

Which is just yet another erasure of women, replaced with whatever men can perform.

So what? He's a man pretending to be a woman, so I'll use male pronouns like I do for any other man.

Here we go with the compelled speech again, and women being commanded to validate what they know is untrue.

I'd consider it a pretty good days' work to offend Serrano. Unfortunately, he enjoys the humiliation, so it's probably a bit of a losing battle.

Props. More props. Look a linky to tell us what a woman thinks to push the narrative of the OP.

I'm not interested in you co-opting what someone else has said for your own agenda.

Explain to me why, YOU as a woman, you don't think women's right to privacy and dignity should be maintain and why YOU aren't prepared to stand with other women to defend women's facilities even though you might not use them?

Or are you only 'a woman' when it suits your interests?

Why can't you answer this question without a prop?
