Another HUGE win. Many will remember the shocking case at Princess Grace Hospital which cancelled a woman's life-saving operation' after she said she wanted single sex health care.

Teresa Steele has now managed to get them change their policy in all their facilities and to follow the Equality Act. She is going to go after all the other UK healthcare providers and NHS to do the same .

More details:

Private hospital group guarantees same sex care for patients
Pressure on NHS to follow suit after HCA promises patients will be looked after by staff members of same 'sex' rather than same 'gender'
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/12/12/private-hospital-guarantees-same-sex-care-for-patients-nhs/

Ms Steele is now working with a newly founded group called Caring About Dignity to support women who “like me have been victimised for asking for same sex care”.

Once again another powerful institution has been humbled by a woman taking a stand for her rights.

Hospital refuses to operate on sex attack victim after she requests all-female care because she fears mixed sex facilities are unsafe for women | Mumsnet

"The patient ...was told by London's Princess Grace Hospital it had to 'protect staff from unacceptable distress'." I can't believe how awful this is...

That is heartening. I am sorry though that she had to go through all of that stress.

Glamourreader · 12/12/2023 20:46

Wow, that's a huge victory! What a fantastic woman. The way she was treated was beyond appalling. Actually the way all women and girls are being treated by the NHS at the moment is beyond appalling.

StarlightLime · 12/12/2023 20:47

Fabulous 💪

PaleBlueMoonlight · 12/12/2023 20:51

What perseverance. Fantastic!

MrsOvertonsWindow · 12/12/2023 21:00

Well done to her - it was an appalling incident. If I recall correctly it was a deliberate act of intrusion by a trans employee in an attempt to invade her privacy during an intimate procedure.
I do hope that individual was subsequently disciplined.

So many courageous women taking on these institutions and forcing them to offer women legal safe single sex care.

GoodOldEmmaNess · 12/12/2023 21:01

Fantastic news.

IcakethereforeIam · 12/12/2023 21:02

Brilliant. Merry Christmas. I may hit the Baileys.

If they're out, I'll see if the Smiths are in at no.7 😁

Winnading · 12/12/2023 21:03

I've forgotten names, but some woman cancelled the operation at very short notice because terf, does anyone know if shes still there? Or was she "let go"

GreigeO · 12/12/2023 21:05

Excellent!

GailBlancheViola · 12/12/2023 21:06

I do hope that individual was subsequently disciplined.

You'll hope in vain for that.

Fantastic result, well done to her but no way should it have ever come to this, it's fucking appalling that it ever happened and that this brave woman had to fight so hard for basic respect and dignity.

All those pushing this ideology should hang their heads in shame, they should be the ones losing their jobs.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 12/12/2023 21:11

Holy shit! That's absolutely fantastic! How she's had the strength to do this is a bloody marvel.

Amazing that she's going to keep pushing with it too, just an absolutely amazing woman.

This is displayed in the foyer of our local NHS hospital. Looks positive.

If Teresa Steele is reading this thread, I want to give my thanks. Thank you so, so much Teresa, you are a wonderful woman!

Now we need the NHS to do that same.

Ooh! It certainly does.

Circumferences · 12/12/2023 22:25

Wow I can see databases being frantically reprogrammed to record patient's and staff's "sex" rather than "whatever you identify as" already.
Amazing.

Imnobody4 · 12/12/2023 22:38

This is brilliant. Huge respect for Teresa.

LarkLane · 12/12/2023 23:38

Amazing woman! Thank you so much if you are looking in.

Woman2023 · 12/12/2023 23:48

This is great news! Step by step women will regain their rights.

UtopiaPlanitia · 12/12/2023 23:53

I saw mention on Twitter that the hospital group’s policy now states that staff should knock and ask for permission before entering patients’s rooms.

I always thought the male trans-identified nurse who entered Teresa’s room without permission and stared at her was very creepy, intimidating and, frankly, boundary-crossing.

Thank you, Teresa, for taking pain and suffering and fighting to make from it something that protects other women 💐

Whatsnewpussyhat · 13/12/2023 00:19

Amazing news and an amazing women!

mantyzer · 13/12/2023 00:25

A private hospital can guarantee this as they have spare beds and single rooms. The NHS can commit to single sex whenever possible, but can not guarantee it. There are not enough beds. So if you get taken in as an emergency and the only bed available is in a male bay, you will have to go there until a female bed becomes available.

That's completely different to the current situation.

Knock and wait until permission granted before entering a room with a patient in should have been standard, it's basic courtesy.

It was a deliberate show of power and control by the male trans identified nurse.

Yes, Teresa is an incredible woman to fight as she has to protect and preserve the safety, privacy and dignity of women whilst ill. It was completely unnecessary for her to have been treated this way she was merely asking for her privacy and dignity to be respected, that's not much to ask for is it? Make no mistake those pushing Gender Ideology do not want or believe that women should have privacy and dignity, women have to be available as tools of validation at all times and at all costs.
