The subject is ripe for satire - I mean, the real world male competitors standing beside the female athletes on starting lines and podiums look objectively ridiculous 🤷‍♀️😬

They know their audience. I'm not surprised at all.

I read yesterday's DT review of this. Seems the public love it (going by Rotten Tomatoes) and the critics don't. It must be OK then.

One of the critics they quoted is Katelyn Burns who, if memory serves is a TW but I don't believe the DT mentions that. It does rather influence my opinion if Burns doesn't approve of it.

I must put it on my watch list.

I have seen it criticised by atheists, as it's not "real satire", because they are exaggerating how easy it is for males to play in female sports.

How bizarre- like exaggeration hasn’t always been one of the tools used by satire!

In some sense the film doesn't really function as satire because it actually downplays the bizarre and alarming things that are going on to present something more gentle and palatable to its intended audience.
