Labour losing women

Sorry couldn’t think of a good title for this. I have been looking at Twitter and it seems that the Labour Party is throwing a few anonymous crumbs of hope towards Gender Critical women, I mean they can fuck right off with that patronising tactic.

but it did make me wonder whether they are finding that the usual women they use to do the drudge work and leafleting and ground work, aren’t volunteering for duty this time round.

has anyone got a view?
I’m generally a floating voter, but last elections I did a lot of support and donations for the Lib Dem’s I won’t be doing that again any time soon, and the Greens and Labour can also not count on my support.
I might actually try and support KJK if she gets her women’s party off the ground.
so essentially has Labour noticed that they are not only losing the women’s vote, but their money and labour as well.
or are GC people not having an impact?
just interested in opinions and anecdata

I love in a Tory safe seat (Surrey) so I wouldn't know really, but they've certainly lost my vote that's for sure. And no amount of desperate reverse ferreting when they suddenly remember what a woman is and that they need our vote will change things for me, sadly. The genies out of the bottle and I see them.

The most gender critical woman I know recently campaigned in a bi election. Because she hates the Tories more and knows that there is only one option to beat them - voting labour. And you have more impact working on the inside rather than outside.

I'll still vote labour. This subject doesn't even register with most people.

Basically a general election is too important to me and many women I know to fuck about and have a wasted vote. There are huge issues in this country - poverty, housing, wages. I look at the whole not one issue

I'm sick to death of hearing 'after the Revolution, Sister' from the Left. Women's rights matter, now, and they have no right to hold us to ransom over other issues. The way they talk anyone would think men are the only real humans.

It will be too late to change things when men are allowed into women's prisons whenever they say so, all research (including health and cancer research) is screwed up by not acknowledging statistical difference between the two sexes, girls are attacked in schools by boys using their toilets, women are losing their jobs for refusing to deny reality...I could go on and on. The GC issue isn't a single issue, it affects every part of society.

Well, this echoes a lot of what was said on the topic in Scotland, if you substitute the SNP for Labour.

Correlation isn't causality of course.

But I'd say its possible that identity politics is symptomatic of an organisation that lacks clear purpose and is struggling with internal power imbalances.

but did they lose the boots on the ground, doing the donkey work of canvassing and making tea?

There is a story in the paper about hiw the SNP have had to pay agency workers to deliver leaflets as there were not enough volunteers.
I guess thats what happens when you alienate your core support. Hope the other parties are watching.

I think (sorry) that GC women such a small part of the population that votes really be voted.
I'd like to support the #respectmysex campaign again and instead of campaigning for Labour stand right next to them handing these out (is this allowed?).

Labour has gone very quiet on 'trans rights' because they know it is a hot issue, but behind the scenes they are still busy meeting with Stonewall and taking the advice of Iain Anderson.

Kier Starmer wants to " take people with us" when it comes to Self Id - and because of that they are manipulating the wording and language a bit. Not explicity using the term 'Self Id'. But the Labour party is full of TRA allies -including in the shadow cabinet. -and this seeems to be the one policy issue that they are willing to placate the Left wing of the party with. They have ditched all of their other Left wing policy positions.

Looking at the recent by-election, yes. As pp notes, volunteers were nowhere to be seen.

You do know that once your rights have gone it will be impossible to roll back? I really wouldn't exchange women's rights for better economic conditions (Saudi Arabia). It is a fundamental No.

During the last election, I saw a TV piece from Labour HQ which showed an office manned by people whose job was to use social media to swing votes to Labour.

I think of this when I see some of the threads being started in AIBU and Chat, and read some of the comments in the Feminism section: Posts from the nothing-to-see-here brigade are ramping up.

As an outsider with no vote who watches from the sidelines, I can say without fear or favour that I do not trust Labour with women's rights.

I am a member of the Labour Party. I do no volunteering ever. Working on the inside gets you nowhere because you become institutionalised, I'm afraid. Occasionally I look at posts - that's about it with interaction with the party.

I am a GC feminist but there is a huge list of things that would influence my vote before I look at gender politics of each party: education, healthcare, ecology, various services funding, corruption and lies, wages vs cost of living... As I said before, if GC problems are the only thing that makes your life difficult - you live a very charmed life.

I don't think Labour's stance on trans rights and self ID has changed one bit, but they're playing it down in public, because they've realised that it's losing them women's votes. With the whole economy in the bread basket, there is really only one issue. Getting change. For me that is Labour. I wish Keir would be more decisive but why not play defence when you have it in the bag. Don't see any other issues having any meaningful impact.

What would you do, if like me, you lived in a Labour stronghold with a council so corrupt and inept that the government has had to send in commissioners to over-see its functions and processes? Where ideology defines identity and strangles regeneration and development; and where your Labour MP refuses to meet with her constituents on the issue of Women's sex based rights and protections, whilst simultaneously attending Palestinian rallies where people wave flags and wish for the death of Israel and Jews?

We all have problems, difficulties and issues to deal with - but there are also lines in the sand when it comes down for who we can vote for in good conscience.
