Er, won't they be dealing with a lot of women who have been raped, experienced FGM, child marriage and abuse as children?

Believing that trans women are women, and therefore trans women attracted solely to other women are lesbians, does not imply that other lesbians are obliged to have sex with anyone they don't want to?

This shit is getting out of hand. So sick of lesbians being bullied like this.

I think any person denying the coercive nature of that tweet has not witnessed a group of young teen lesbians telling each other they are transphobic for not accepting trans lesbian dick. The knock on impact of statements such as this tweet are hugely concerning.

Lots of happily married older lesbians who no longer benefit from lesbian only social events, club nights or dating apps cheerfully state trans women are women before going home to their female wives.

So are you saying that if a lesbian recognises someone else as a woman, she is obliged to have sex with them? If not, then it's not the recognition of someone as a woman that brings about coercion (if it existed, but there's no evidence that it does).

And are you claiming that it is, in fact, other lesbians forcing lesbians to have sex with people? Because of course there's no evidence that that is true.

I think you need to consider how you think of consent.

The fact that someone is a woman does not mean a lesbian is obliged to have sex with her, or date her.

Just because some lesbians think that TWAW, doesn't make them right. They are not revered – by me anyway – as any kind or oracle on the subject.

You really can't go around redefining anything and everything just to suit your cause. So:

 Transwomen are men

 Lesbians are born female and are same sex attracted.

I really won't be playing silly games around faux naivety that 'unless THIS EXACT SPECIFIC GROUP mentioned EXACTLY WHAT YOU SAID in THIS SPECIFIC MOMENT' then it has nothing to do with the political movements, attitudes and entire picture it is propping up.

I honestly wonder if this is how some people are managing the cognitive dissonance and to go on identifying as a good person while enforcing these horrors on others. Jog on with that.

It's really this simple. If lesbians are free to reject other women as sexual or dating partners for any reason they wish, then recognising trans women as women does not imply any obligation, duty or coercion for anyone to have sex with anyone they do not want to.

If you think that recognising trans women as women implies some belief in a duty on the part of lesbians to have sex with people they don't want it, then it implies that lesbians do not have the right to withhold consent for sex from someone provided they are a woman.

When you say that TRAs think lesbians don't have an absolute right to refuse sex with anyone for any reason, what do you mean? Which 'TRAs'? And why is that relevant to the UN Women, who have not expressed that view?

So you want to accuse people who think trans women are women of 'enforcing horrors on others' but also won't be 'playing silly games' of demonstrating that they actually believe what you say they believe (in this case, that women don't have an absolute right to refuse sex/dating/relationships for any reason whatsoever).

Yeah I am a lesbian and I used to post 'trans lesbians are lesbians' and #LWiththeT etc on Twitter.

Then I realised that every lesbian social group, app and online space was dominated by male lesbians. That lesbianism was being fetishised by heterosexual men obsessed with lesbian porn. That young lesbians were identifying as queer or transitioning to trans men at an alarming rate. That there is not a single lesbian club or bar left in my home town. That lesbian visibility week focuses on the visibility of males with gender dysphoria.

So I stopped posting that stuff on Twitter.

I don't know that they mean what they say? Well I suppose that's true of anyone, but if your view on lesbian opinion on this rests on those lesbians being either liars or idiots, I'm not sure that's a terribly sound assumption.
