He's a working class guy from Essex, who left school at 16, learned to play the guitar and fell in with radical pop and folk songs. That's his identity, and he's sticking to it. It has served him well.

It's harassment if it happens to a man. If it, however, happens to the 50% of the population who were put on the earth to serve men, it's fine really.

I wasn’t quite such a fan but I did used to listen to and enjoy Remainiacs. The fact that Dorian has come out with such an attack on HJ has actually taken me aback. I knew he had a trans child and was in with the fox killer but still. Also disappointed to see Ian Dunt getting in there too. I thought he was a bit more balanced.

Do you have any more info about this, inkjet? I was struck by the vehemence of Lynskey's attack on Helen Joyce, but if he has a trans-identifying child that would make some sense.

I used to like BB. But he has revealed him to be such an arrogant idiot. Another one of those lefties who, as soon as they get some ££££, buy a massive house with a massive garden (and ensure they have a massive pension plan) and rather than admitting that they're not as leftie as they used to be, just carry on with the virtue-signalling-on-steroids.

RoyalCorgi I don’t think he’s tweeted directly about it but he talks about a son where before he talked about daughters (and the son isn’t a new baby from the context) and I’ve seen him tweet about how unfair the guidance for schools was for trans boys. I realise I sound obsessed but I only went looking when I saw him getting into arguments about puberty blockers and thought hmm.

This. I mean, we knew he was a misogynist because he asserted men could be women. But this takes him to utter, despicable, misogynist prick level. He clearly has never ever taken the time to learn about trauma or the many ways women have to act to appease dangerous men.

Imagine if he told a person of colour that he had seen the footage of them being racially abused and they were smiling so it wasn't real racism, and get over it love. It would be the end of his career, but swop 'person of colour ' for 'woman' and it's all cool beans. Apparently 🙄

He's certainly gone to a dark place of the soul. Question is, was it always there or is this a new thing?

My guess is that it was always there, and he was just able to mask it better in his earlier career, with his LARPing politics lifted straight from Bob Dylan and blues music. Similarly many men have masked using comedy. But really, they just fucking resent and despise women, probably because they're angry at their mums and a girl at school turned them down once. Then they got successful so they tightly controlled that feeling behind a smile - but it was always there inside, like a little knot waiting to unravel.

I was at the Manchester meeting where Maya F and Helen J talked about womens and girls rights in law and how to secure them....as we left the building, a mob of transactivists were waiting for us. They screamed at us ' Nazis out', ' no Fascists here!' and 'f * Helen Joyce', banging drums as they followed us down a backstreet.

Bravely, Helen and Maya marched at the front of our group, openly defying the raging fools as we all now made our way confidently along the street .. heads up and. unbowed!

His child is a singer-songwriter called Jack Valero, lives in Brighton. I don't know if trans. Very little info online about him until a few years ago so certainly possible. No excuse for being a mysoginist though, if so.
