Tribunal tweets are covering the closing arguments in Shahrar Ali's case today. This is a hugely important case given that two other cases with gender crits who faced discrimination in the party are coming up as well. If the Greens lose this the 5th biggest political party in the UK could face bankruptcy.

Thanks for posting the link to Tribunal Tweets @fromorbit

The bullying behaviour of Matt Browne stood out to me but the legal arguments seemed very complicated.

ArabeIIaScott · 21/11/2023 22:08

Thank you, fromorbit.

'judgement is reserved, you will have a written judgement in due course'

Thanks for the update Pronouns. Not long to wait now.

Go Shahrar Ali. The results of this case could be huge because it will mean sexists in other parties from Labour, Lib Dems, SNP will be in serious trouble. No more bullying! Without it their position is screwed because in open debate they always lose.

I don't want to be over confident, but the tribunal seemed to showed a bunch of obvious discrimination against Shahrar so I think his case is very strong.

Nordensost · 05/02/2024 11:53

Bump!

I have everything crossed for Shahrar for Friday's judgement day.

Alison Teale has also decided to take the Green Party to court. This comes in addition to the existing cases being brought by Emma Bateman and Dawn Furness. I know of a further GP member who has been talking to a lawyer.

Oops! That should have said Alison Teal.

I watched the Green Party Women hustings this evening.

The TRAs didn't stand a single candidate. Every woman standing for election believes in material reality and supports women's sex based rights.

If you're a member of Green Party Women, please do vote. Although these fantastic GC women are running unopposed, the Green Party voting system offers an option of RON (re-open nominations) and the TRAs could use it.

The candidates are hoping for a strong turn out because that will be a vote of confidence in a women's committee which supports women's rights.

WarriorN · 07/02/2024 21:20

Great, I missed it but this is encouraging

Amazing! The TRAs are falling apart. They clearly are in panic mode.

1 day till the Shahrar Ali verdict. Friday 10 am.

If he wins this it will be an wonderful tribute to all the women and men in the Greens that know sex is real and refused to say it wasn't. Their fight over years will have been one of the battles that turned the tide alongside Maya, Alison, JKR.

A win won't just change the Greens - it will change British politics.

cariadlet · 07/02/2024 21:39

I think the TRAs are putting their energy into Feminist Greens, the "feminist" group that elected a man as co-chair and is all about the TQ+

It will surely send some shock-waves through the Labour Party.

Why would the TRAs not stand? Unsafe because of all the narsty wimmin?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/02/2024 22:15

Someone on Twitter said they have formed a rival "women's" group.

WarriorN · 08/02/2024 06:24

Yes, the 'feminist greens.'

Really confusing as they've a similar logo to Green Party women and GPW have a different email / site now since the Gp shut dish the official one, called green feminists....

Feminist Greens basically a neoliberal corporate "feminist" concept - pro sex work etc.

Transwoman Seb Cousins is now co-leader thread here. At least they make it clear what their priorities are.

Gosh there's a whole lot of identifying going on there...

duc748 · 08/02/2024 10:41

Have to admit, that was one of The Onion's best ever! 😃

TheGreatATuin · 08/02/2024 12:46

"Feminist" Greens is an offshoot group created by a small group of activists because they were cross that they weren't getting voted into or able to boss Green Party Women about.
I doubt there's many of them tbh. They didn't get enough support from female Greens then. I doubt they'll get much now either.

fromorbit · 08/02/2024 13:27

"Feminist" Greens have locked their twitter account it seems. Trouble in Paradise?

Not to be confused with the long standing Green Feminists UK who actually are feminists and who have three times their followers. Good account to follow for what is going on.
