I feel like I was at a different event to some people on here. The staff seemed fine and the audience were grateful to them for letting the event go ahead imho

And you didn’t see the blue and pink lights and the slogan projected onto the stage?

I did see the smoke machine but not the projections. In spite of these nobody took up the offer to put the other point of view to the audience so meh.

They rarely do ask questions. Because they won’t like the answers. which will also be published on media.

But I consider a smoke machine mysteriously going off to be ‘not normal’ and the projection and lights was not normal. This was a private venue that was hired for the event.

If this was a university or a publicly owned building then reasonable protests inside that didn’t prevent speaking is acceptable in my opinion. In a privately hired building where it is the staff doing it, no. Not acceptable. Staff should not be that unprofessional and should have been removed or if known it would happen, it should have been prevented. If a ticket holder protests, that is a different story again. But this was staff.

Asking questions? That is absolutely the appropriate way to have acted. However, it seems that asking questions or being asked questions in this group is to be avoided at all costs.
