If you are in the Green party don't forget the Green Party Women’s EXTRAORDINARY General Meeting Tues 1st Aug 6:30pm

It includes two key elements:

  1. Vital constitutional change to enable all GPW members to vote for committee, rather than just those able to attend a mtg
  1. Speak out re discrimination v GC women

The run up to the meeting has seen a bunch of sexist nonsense as anti-women forces in the party target people. See tweets below.

The clock is ticking for sexists in the Greens though. The Green party of England and Wales are facing three court cases over their sexist attitudes and ongoing discrimination against people who accept biology.

This could be a huge game changer for Gender crits in the UK and the cases look very strong. Remember this is coming up in the run up to the next UK General election in 2024 all these cases are going to get a tonne of publicity. Gardening is needed.

Shahrar Ali's case comes up first, in late August 2023 and then Emma Bateman’s, then Dawn Furness.

Success in these cases will continue the fight back against institutional sexism in the Greens and across the UK.

Shahrar Ali was the first prominent person to from an ethnic minority to gain a position of power as Deputy Leader inside the UK Greens. He has come under sustained attack for knowing human biology and lost a position as spokesperson for the party.

Emma Bateman, former prominent figure in the Green party, elected co-chair of Green Party woman group three time. She was expelled from the Green Party of England and Wales (GPEW) in January 2023 after being accused of a host of misdemeanours stemming from refusing to pretend that people can change sex.

Dawn Furness's case is particularly damning as she was targeted because she challenged the Greens failure to safeguard over the Challenor child abuse cover up inside the party and was physically assaulted.

All the parties will be reclaimed for women. It is only a matter of time.

How did it go?

stealtheatingtunnocks · 01/08/2023 23:50

interesting. I didn’t know that Dawn furness was assaulted either

A couple of speakers attempted a hijack by speaking off-topic, with one of them banging on about the influence of the American right on GC people within the party. And she managed to insert the old chestnut about us believing that only women who had children are really women. She was shut up, but rather late. But her comments only seemed ridiculous when I heard about the suspensions etc that had been going on.

The other was a self-described 1960/1970s feminist who hasn't been paying attention. She really should know better.

Was there any particular outcome, motions passed etc? Why did they call sn extraordinary general meeting?

IWilloBeACervix · 03/08/2023 10:40

I’d like to know what happened. I failed to register in time to attend, as I didn’t realise they needed to check membership.
