Do you wear any "Rad Fem"-identifying clothes or accessories?

I was on a bus the other day and sailed past a woman vulva-owner with an Adult Human Female T-shirt on. I almost strained my neck to get a good look at her and nearly broke my face with how much it made me smile.

But I also, ridiculously, thought what a brave person.

I've never seen any "Rad Fem" clothes or accessories out in the wild. I was in a meeting with a woman who wore Venus symbol earrings a few months ago and I got very excited that it was "I believe in two sexes" code. But her Twitter confirms otherwise 🙄

Have you ever seen any out in the wild? If so, what did you feel? What did you do? Do you wear clothes/accessories that might identify you as a biology-believer?

I'd love an AHF T-shirt for working out.

I now have a long shopping list, thanks to this thread 😆I wear Birdy Rose t-shirts, dinosaurs, Harry Potter merchandise and my FWS pin badges a lot, and knitted some GWV hats and wrist warmers last winter. I've never had a comment made to my face and I wouldn't notice a dirty look unless it happened at point blank range.

When my NHS organisation handed out rainbow lanyards I politely declined to take one and made myself a GWV lanyard by plaiting narrow ribbon. I wore it for almost a year and nobody said a word. If I'd been asked, I'd have put on my best innocent eyes and said, "I don't need to wear a rainbow to show I support the NHS, I turn up at work every day."

I’ve just bought a uterus pin from etsy

DOBARDAN · 28/07/2023 17:46

@JackieQueen why, thank you, I'm glad I spoke with you that day, it's nice to meet you too, both here and IRL! I did wonder if others may have noticed your scarf and commented, mum says 'hi' too, I've just relayed our messages on here to her. Keep on terfing!

I have a friendship bracelet in the suffragette colours that I always wear (along with Hufflepuff and Ukraine ones) and my coat had a dinosaur brooch in the same colours.

I also have a For Women Scotland pin.
Sadly most of Posie's merchants is too small for me as I'd love a Thought Criminal T or hoodie

HuwsLineIsItAnyway · 28/07/2023 17:56

IcakethereforeIam · 27/07/2023 17:10

I've got this, but I haven't worn it yet. I think it's got plausible deniabilityGrin

Oooh where is this from and does in come in "Bedouin tent" size?

IcakethereforeIam · 28/07/2023 18:20

@HuwsLineIsItAnyway Blush Amazon. Assorted colours. Not sure about sizes. I think you can find it by searching for t shirt, dinosaur, unicorn. They also sell it as a hoodie and possibly other iterations.

Thank you, they do make my size!
Now I just need to work out how to wear jeans while 6 months pregnant (and fat. Have been living in dresses)

IcakethereforeIam · 28/07/2023 19:12

Congratulations,. When I was pregnant I sometimes wore large sized leggings back to front. Bump would fit where arse would usually go.

Unfortunately I have both a bump and and arse 😂
Maybe I could wear Sam Smith's trousers sideways? 🤔

IcakethereforeIam · 28/07/2023 19:47

So much of an arse in SS's pants!

TheCheerfulNihilist · 29/07/2023 00:38

Where do you get the suffragette scarf with AHM around the outside?

Discovered yesterday what a coward I am. Colleague and I talking about books and I mentioned listening to HP on audiobook. He said 'oh I used to love Potter but JK Rowling has ruined THAT for me'

I just grimaced and said nothing.

What should I have said?

I don't think I can do this openly, it's genuinely terrifying.

You ask, "Why? what has she done?"

And keep playing dumb, get them to try to find a quote. Keep saying, "can you explain how that is transphobic?"

@Kindofcrunchy

If you buy a half metre of purple, white and green ribbon and plat them together you can make a very simple bracelet.

I have a bracelet with dinosaurs on it.

I have the suffragette scarf from Ministry of Tartan. I’ve just seen that they are also launching a throw which I might have to add to my Christmas List!

https://theministryoftartan.co.uk/product-category/suffragette_tartan_range/

I also have the scarf and I covet that throw.

I also have the FWS suffragette pin and various dinosaur themed things.

Appalonia · 29/07/2023 06:46

I have a dinosaur necklace and I got a personalised phone case ( from Etsy ) which says 'Adult Human Female'. I also have a t shirt which says 'Women won't Wheesht', but I've only worn that at feminist events.

I recently went to a secret Terf party in London and got a temporary tattoo made that said 'Terf'!

OceanicBoundlessness · 29/07/2023 13:11

I have a this witch doesn't burn top. I also have suffragette related tote bags and pins.

I also have a gorgeous dress with dinosaurs on that always gets complimented. I'm not sure anyone gets the link but it gives me a quiet satisfaction to wear it in all its fabulousness. It also has pockets to hoard my rights in.

ArcticLingered · 29/07/2023 14:26

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 27/07/2023 16:49

I ve got a tee shirt which is purple, white and green. It doesn’t have a slogan, though, so I suppose it may be too subtle .

However, I am extremely old and so virtually everyone I know thinks that men are men and women are women and that a man in a dress in public is something which would get me modded if I confided it to print.

I did attempt to build a dinosaur in the front garden, but it defeated me , too big. Perhaps I should have a go at just the head….

I would love a dinosaur onesie.

I know what you are getting at @Allthegoodnamesarechosen - but if said person who you have described as "a man in a dress" also identifies as such, is there a problem? Unusual maybe, but who cares if that's what he wants to wear?

BelleHend · 29/07/2023 16:23

Absolutely loving @DOBARDAN and @JackieQueen 😍

You all have such beautiful "rad fem" stuff. I feel so humbled by your bravery (ridiculous I know) and inspired to be a bit braver myself

I wore my terfy (to me) t shirt today and, probably coincidence, but so much has happened.

Zebracat · 29/07/2023 17:54

What’s happened? Good or bad?

IcakethereforeIam · 29/07/2023 18:05

Just stuff I've read on other threadsGrin, mostly good. And I had a completely out of the blue conversation with some random person about meh-n in women's sports, which has never happened to me before. We both agreed it was ridiculous.

EachandEveryone · 29/07/2023 18:13

I have a AHF tote bag and yes, one woman in the city of London rushing to the tube station did a double turn and ran back to me to say she loved my bag. Two others in Aldi have smiled at it. Im abit reluctant to take it to hospital appointments with me as its in my place of woek and it must be the most right on hospital in London at least (Mermaids etc) that I wouldnt dare incase I got hauled up to the chief exec😀 same reason why I wont use tge pen at work either.

That throw is gorgeous.

CurseYouPerryThePlatypus · 29/07/2023 19:29

I have a Harry Potter “lumos” pin on my work lanyard. Plausible deniability etc.

Also making bracelets with my DCs this holiday and my first knotted one (takes me back to making them in teen years!) obviously had to be suffragette colours - I’ll probably do a few in different patterns.

Tempted to get letter beads for my youngest and nab the letters WORIADS 😁

Do you wear any "Rad Fem"-identifying clothes or accessories?
CurseYouPerryThePlatypus · 29/07/2023 19:34

I haven’t bought any T-shirts yet but that’s more down to being fussy with fabric (autistic) and worrying about printing quality, also needing tent size frankly 😳😁 but when I do find something I like I hope to wear it anywhere I go really. Keen to meet other GC women locally and it would be a good way.

I don’t think dinosaur stuff would be a statement at all around where I live and certainly in the (largely pretty woke) home ed community I’m in a lot - dinosaurs on adult and kids clothes are really popular anyway and IME it’s not being worn for GC reasons at all, it’s just because they’re cute.

LemonadeSunshine · 30/07/2023 01:17

I use an AHF tote bag to cart my laptop around, carrying it most days.
The laptop has AHF stickers on the back of the screen, just in case anyone missed the bag.
I sit in Starbucks to work most weeks...
