Not right to say only women have a cervix, says Starmer

Given Labour's appearance of a tenative attempt to U turn on the gender and trans debate ( although I have significant supicion about their motives, beliefs, and their actions when they win ), will Starmer have to rollback on his statement "Not right to say only women have a cervix" given he recently said women are adult human females. The two statment contradict each other, only one can be true.

I worry that Starmer's solution is that males can change sex and become female, destroying single sex spaces. He's just not saying this out loud.

After the whole 99.9% of women thing I wouldn’t trust anything the smug git says. How stupid does he think women are? There will be some ridiculous loophole whatever he says.

nonman · 27/07/2023 23:26

I see todays Instagram offering from Starmer is all about how much he loves playing football. I think he’s given up trying to get the women’s vote and he’s going after the men’s vote.

Annaishere · 27/07/2023 23:58

I really have to wonder why on earth they’re doing this

Questions for Starmer:

  1. You recently stated it was wrong to say that only women have a cervix. Do you still stand by that?
  2. You now say a woman is an adult female. Does your definition of female include males who identify as females?
  3. What is a safe space? Is it the same as a single-sex space?
  4. Will you apologise to Rosie Duffield for failing to protect her from a torrent of abuse over her gender-critical views, despite the fact her beliefs are worthy of respect in a democratic society?
  5. Will you step back from Stonewall and stop it influencing policy?
  6. Will you keep gender ideology out of the classroom, ensuring no child is ever told they might have been born in the wrong body?

That’s just for starters.

If he gives full and satisfactory answers, I would strongly consider joining the LP. The LDs have gone past the point of no return as far as I can see.

his statement "Not right to say only women have a cervix" given he recently said women are adult human females. The two statment contradict each other

If you look at his exact wording, they aren't mutually exclusive. The key bit is "not right to say" so perhaps he does know that only women have a cervix, he just doesn't think that biological facts should be spoken out loud. Which in my view makes him a coward.

Or anyone who feels like an elephant and feels female.

Yes, please don't assume that those assigned non elephant at birth don't have an inner elephant identity that makes them elephants

I've got a cat like that. He was being his true and authentic elephant self all over my head at ten to five this morning. The bastard, being species fluid, is now expressing his inner sloth on the sofa.

TodayInahurry · 28/07/2023 07:44

Starmer appears to change his opinions more often than he changes his underpants! Totally untrustworthy!

Chersfrozenface · 28/07/2023 07:45

My late mother used to say that some people had been cats in another life, on the basis of their behaviour.

She was, of course, viewing things through the lens of a much more primitive era.

Now we know that these people were, in fact, species fluid.

I think it could be that. That people were the other gender in the previous life

SunnyEgg · 28/07/2023 07:49

It’s all just trying to get women to forget previous statements

He’s all over the shop with it

He’ll change it again if he gets in

Sorry slightly off topic but Joss Prior’s meltdown on Labour’s policy shift is a joy to behold.

I get the sentiment 😂

It’s more likely he is thinking of transmen who do in fact have cervixes because they are female.

It’s a joy to behold a slur infused tweet that is calling for common assault and ABH? And violence is supposed to be a male only crime.

Annaishere · 28/07/2023 07:46

That would work, if people had previous lives. So, souls moving from body to body.

Except that doesn't happen. There are no souls Our conscientious is a function of our physical bodies. Everything is rooted in our physical bodies. Which are sexed from conception, by the way.

What we do, within the capability of our physical bodies, is up to us, though constrained to various extents by external factors.

Helleofabore · 28/07/2023 08:12

That deception of males now claiming they are ‘adult females’ is rather something to behold. And needs to be highlighted every single time anyone attempts to shame posters for not using chosen pronouns.

No! Just no!

There is now not one word that they haven’t claimed as their own, so there is no words left to describe a female person as different to a male. It was always the aim and it now must be getting clearer and clearer even to those who continue to choose to remonstrate others for upholding their own boundaries.

Annaishere · 28/07/2023 08:16

It isn’t just on trans people though. The government is pushing it

Helleofabore · 28/07/2023 08:23

I think though that White demonstrated very nicely why nobody can trust Starmer’s new statements to be any different to the old statements. The only thing I can see missing from Starmer’s statement is the ‘there are however a tiny number of people who identify as being women’.

White has shown us exactly what Starmer now believes. It is still a sleight of hand when you look at his, Starmer’s, past beliefs.

I suspect this is in preparation for all the interviews of the future, including with Kellie Jay Keen as an opponent. Considering Australia’s PM answered the same way and has survived what furore there was there, and Beth Rigby’s interview of Iain Anderson, it obviously became clear to the Labour Party that something had to change. I also suspect that the three electorates also reported back that they could no longer lie that this wasn’t one of the major issues being discussed in the by-elections.

Time was up. But. All it has given is more weasel words. None of it is based on actual action or seems based on listening to women about their needs.

That men have cervixes apparently

Rightsraptor · 28/07/2023 08:39

@AP5Diva - nobody says violence is a male-only crime. But we do say that most violence is committed by males because this is true.

If Joss Prior were to be arrested because of that threatening Tweet, that would indeed be a joy to behold.

Helleofabore · 28/07/2023 08:40

Right. But the government is very clear that those people are ‘female’. I don’t believe that they have once said or allowed NHS to state that any male human has a cervix. Only ever a female human.

The discussion here is about whether any person can now trust the Labour Party in their use of ‘female’.

White, who has represented Stonewall, and has written a entire book on ‘trans’ law (which became rather irrelevant within a short term of being published) has to be considered respected enough to be showing how this works. Considering the labour party is so entwined with Stonewall.

If you think the current government has published something that has stated that male people can have a cervix, please link us up so we can see it for ourselves.

Anyone else find it hilarious that IW and Robin Moira White now define transwomen as "female people who are women"?

Please, do go ahead and put that definition into law.

Robin is dishonest when Robin pretends not to understand what anyone means by female. It's not postmodern, it's not clever, it's lying.

I don't find it hilarious. I find it scary. It's state sanctioned misogyny when these males are celebrate after spouting such hate speech. A female is a person on a large gamete producing pathway. I truly believe that both RMW and IW find the reality of their sexed bodies very upsetting and I would guess there is some trauma in their background to account for their putting so much stock in what their genitals look like but they are still both, and always will be, men. I'd actually like it to be a crime for a man to say he's female or to attempt to deny the reality of the male/ female binary. It has very real effects for women when you do that and, to be clear, women are the 'most oppressed' when it comes to the TW/ actual women oppression olympics. This sort of speech is part of that oppression. Both these men think they 'identify as a woman' but their complete inability to show any empathy towards women's experiences, needs or histories means that no right minded person should accept their statement that they're a woman/ female. They're TW. That's a subset of men. They're male.

As for Kier? He's playing with words and thinks he's being clever. How very like him to underestimate women's abilities to actually think. Why are people not seeing him for the massive misogynist that he is?
