You're seeing what you want to see, instead of what is plainly before you.

Yes, it's a narcissistic brag.

If it walks like a duck...

I think you have a difficulty with projection here.

You have your deep abiding prejudice towards a person here, for personal reasons. It is laughable the lengths you go to.

Helleofabore · 07/08/2023 11:57

Would you like to qualify specifically who Kellie Jay Keen has 'worked' with that is 'far right'?

Maybe watch the video?

Yes, the guy who made it is a dick, no I don't agree with his conclusions or his politics, and yes he is just trying to smear KJK.

However she doesn't half make it easy for people like him to smear her, and us all by association - and that's the point.

It's ages since I saw it and I can't be arsed to watch it again but IIRC he lists example of extremists KJK has been on shows / had dealings with.

Not that any of it is new, it's all been shared here before, I expect.

Datun · 07/08/2023 12:27

"had dealings with"

😁

clothesintervention · 07/08/2023 12:27

Helleofabore · 07/08/2023 12:22

And while you are answering that, perhaps you need to also qualify and define what 'worked with' means for us all, posters and readers.

Because if you mean 'worked with' as in has campaigned with, that is significant. If you mean 'worked with' as in had someone take a selfie with or allowed to use the open mic at an event or did an interview with, then you are again using guilt by association to attempt to strengthen your incredibly weak argument.

By the standard of 'did an interview with' then no journalist of any reputation will be able to put into any box. Because they should be interviewing everyone with impartiality and have all sorts of people on their shows that will bring viewer numbers. If they do their job professionally, their political views should not come into it. Even if it was a 'far right' activist who was interviewing someone, why would any person with critical thinking believe that the person being interviewed and the interviewer would share a political view? The world is fucked if that is the premise for 'interviews' today.

So, tell us all, please what 'working with' means so we can work out whether or not your claims have any factual basis at all or is just the same old 'guilt by association' as usual.

Most feminists would not go on a show with an actual white supremacist, given their views and politics are abhorrent.

These people are not "reputable journalists" give me strength!

MavisMcMinty · 07/08/2023 12:28

If only the “right-wing” media offers you a platform, are you supposed to decline the opportunity in the vague hope that the Guardian will be in touch any minute?

There is a difference between the right wing and the far right.

Again, I am talking about extremists such as white supremacists, not the Daily Mail.

clothesintervention · 07/08/2023 12:32

Are people here unable to distinguish between the right and the far right?

And are you really so taken in by KJK's rhetoric that you seriously can't see that association with racist, anti-women nutters might be a poor tactic, for women's rights activists?

clothesintervention · 07/08/2023 12:33

So, if "pedophiles weekly" wanted to do an interview with KJK, should she accept that, because "any port in a storm?"

If not, why not?

You're seeing what you want to see, instead of what is plainly before you.

Yes, it's a narcissistic brag.

If it walks like a duck...

Transactivists show themselves up, every day, single, time. They can't help it. From the insanity of their beliefs, to the violence they use to impose them on others.

Their lack of analysis, and rants of inarticulate self interest is what started Operation Let Them Speak, ffs.

They go out of their way to be hoist by their own petards, because they are blind to what others see.

When they are faced with a gleefully gender conforming, bottle blonde lording it over them, telling them she never loses, it sends them into the stratosphere.

It's laughable that you find it a narcissistic brag, when it's perfectly obvious to everyone else, that it's a highly successful tactic.

NotBadConsidering · 07/08/2023 12:35

Are people here unable to distinguish between the right and the far right?

🤣🤣🤣

That’s hilarious. TRAs have been known to call the Guardian a far right rag FFS!!

lechiffre55 · 07/08/2023 12:36

What far right white supremacist outlet did she go on in the video?
I can't be bothered to watch the video sorry. I gave up after 5 mins.

Oh yes, such a poor tactic that leads to public apologies, and a groundswell of support all round the world.

I did watch the video. It is nothing by guilt by association. Something which I believe that you embrace as a means to discredit people you dislike.

I look forward to your list of people she has ‘had dealings with’ that aligns her politically with that group or person. Bring them on!!

Otherwise it is all still ‘vague’ accusations based on guilt by association.

BoreOfWhabylon · 07/08/2023 12:37

KJK characterises the neo-nazis as "one of the most vile ideologies that has ever existed on this planet" here.

cool, nice of them to help her out

NotBadConsidering · 07/08/2023 12:54

Things that have been called “far right” by TRAs off the top of my head:

JK Rowling
The Guardian
Me (in real life)
The BBC
The Daily Mail/Times/Telegraph
Julie Bindel
Kathleen Stock
Mr Menno
Moira Deeming

So you cannot provide a list of the ‘far right’ associations? Or you don’t want to because… why?

Thanks for the clarity.

Now, can we discuss CPAC Australia and whether they are ‘far right’? And how a past chairman of the Australian Labour Party and a longtime and well known indigenous activist who is now the chairman of CPAC turned into a ‘far right’ figure to people who seem to have little understanding of Australian politics, but seem very keen to position themselves as experts enough to call people ‘far right’?

Why was the post with the Kellie-Jay Keen/CPAC sponsorship and flights links deleted? I didn't see anything against talk guidelines.

They really are.

People must have missed the memo that KJK has said she will speak to the devil himself if it means saving one single child.

And I'm pretty sure she has the logical wherewithal to understand the difference between speaking to, and endorsing.

Just for the hard of hearing. She is not a feminist, and speaks to who she wants.

Shaming tactics are like water off her very, very waterproof ducks' back.

And trying to make mumsnetters feel shameful by association is...making me snort actually.

Because it was a snippet and a screenshot designed to give a false impression.
