I turned a blind eye to their porny pictures and men in tights, but when they are sending out marketing materials glorifying double mastectomies and crumbling bones, I’m out.

I've stopped using them too. And I was one of the people who bailed them out a few years ago by buying vouchers. They will never get another penny from me.

That isn't how I read that picture. I see a black dude in a pink crop top, with striped leggings shorts and a crutch.

I also see a drag queen, an overweight woman, and probably a transwoman at the back, judging by the hand on the plump woman's waist.

Is the crutch needed due to puberty blockers then? Presumably she's not yet had her arm flayed to create an artificial flesh sausage, she wouldn't be able to use the crutch comfortably after that.
Seems like this company royally deserves a Bud Light experience...

Glorifying crumbling bones? Maybe they are just saying that people with joint/bone issues can wear their tights as much as anyone else can! And maybe the double mastectomy is because the lady had breast cancer? I can’t see how they are glorifying it?

I raised it with them on their socials. There was a beautiful picture of a curvy ballet dancer. I commented how lovely it was, inclusive, accepting of all body shapes.
I suggested they do more like it, and fewer if the soft porn, kink, objectifying posts. They told me that they were committed to showing bigger bodies as sexy, or some such. They totally didn't want to know.

You're clearly not aware that harnesses are fashionable at the minute and fairly difficult to get in sizes for bigger bodies? Snag are meeting that gap in the market.

I don't understand why you have a problem with fake garter tights. You're not being forced to wear or buy them? Are you going into H&M and complaining about their corset tops?

Don't like it? Don't buy it, but I fail to see the appeal in coming on here and complaining about why products exist, claiming a pair of tights is "porn adjacent" (biggest load of nonsense I've ever heard) and waffling on about how incensed you are that they've put a leaflet in an order that's got a person on crutches on it.

That is a weird image. Why is the top half of the torso of the person without breasts pink and the rest very dark? They are not implying this is someone in blackface, right? The forced smile just adds to the weirdness.

As for ‘don’t like it, don’t buy it’, that’s a rather naive view of how late-stage capitalism works. It’s impossible to ignore online advertising in our daily lives, it’s everywhere and almost all we do (including here on MN) generates huge amounts of data that then feed into more commercial messaging. There is an intense debate in our society about the kinds of images that can be viewable by all, e.g. under-18s viewing extreme pornography on their phones, so sexualised and propagandistic imagery in commercial messages seems like a valid topic for general adult discussion.

OMG I was torn about the images. On the one hand I get that you want bigger ladies (I am one) to feel they can be sexy, but on the other hand, do they really need to pose like that?

I'm also pissed with them as their black leggings have been out of stock for aaaaaages (and they are really comfortable). The chub rub shorts are shit though.
