Rise of Moms for Liberty in the USA

I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in politics, but this group assembled in just 30 months and they look set to influence the GOP primaries. It's very much a product of the USA (anti-woke and anti-masking, etc), but it also shows what happens when a bunch of motivated, pissed-off women started organizing properly.

Whilst I don't agree with many of their aims, what I find interesting were the same tactics and insults being used to shut them down, as we see over here - GCs get reported for hate crimes, they got reported for domestic terrorism.

Who’s Afraid of Moms for Liberty?

A growing cadre of angry mothers is taking over school boards and winning influence as GOP kingmakers. Why are they being called a ‘hate group’?

Getting back to the OP's original query, GC feminists can follow Moms for Liberty's example of banding together and keeping on track while ignoring the bullshit and the attempts, even in threads like these, to shame us and shut us down for even having this discussion.

This video from their conference shows James Lindsay describing the whole dynamic of how totalitarian structures try to shame us in "struggle sessions," as happened in Maoist China, in order to shut us down and intimidate us from speaking out. Ie by throwing bad faith accusations that we are right wing transphobes, fascists, ad literal nauseam. As they also love to do to KJK. The key is to keep doing what we're doing and not allow ourselves to be shamed or silenced.

Moms for Liberty turned the mud slinging dynamic around by embracing the abuse, putting "Domestic Terrorist" on T shirts worn by soccer moms to prove how baseless and ridiculous such accusations are. When you're trying to demonize a group of concerned mothers, you are NOT on the right side of history.

And on both sides of the Atlantic, we are a powerful voting block with the power to swing an election.

Did you notice that this is a quote from Jonathan S Tobin, who is Jewish and the editor in chief of the Jewish News Syndicate? The quote marks and the attribution are helpful clues.

I don't know why he addressed 'Americans and Jews of all political stripes' but it seems highly unlikely that he was implying that Jews are not included in 'Americans'.

My guess is because he was speaking in his professional capacity specifically to Jewish Americans, but also felt his comments applied to American more generally.

But this is very typical of what happens in these instances, this kind of smearing.

If anyone bothered to watch the disussion I posted up-thread, they specifically talk about the issue of book banning, particularly in Florida. It's about half way through for anyone who wants to hear just that bit. The woman in the discussion who teaches in Florida says the media has been deeply disingenuous with claims that they are banning teaching about slavery or "bad things" or books on these topics. Mainly she says, books being flagged as inappropriate are based on queer theory, and are aimed at grades K to 3 - which is to say, kids under 9 years old.

She very clearly says that they are deliberately mixing up queer theory and racial theories so they can equate concerns about queer theory being taught with racist material.

Well, we say posts on the first page of this thread using just that technique - concerns about sexual content in kid's books is apparently banning books and racist.

I think it is a balanced article too. It explains the real danger of some of them going far to far with book banning or extreme ideas.

People are always concerned one side will ‘go too far’ but ignore the fact that the TRA ‘side’ is sterilising and mutilating children, exposing children to explicit material including pornographic books in school, encourage violence against those who object and get arrested for paedophilia with remarkable regularity.

And yet that’s never recognised by anyone in authority as going too far. But let a women ‘misgender’ someone and she’s in deep trouble. Strange ….

The main issue appears to be their British counterparts still need to do quite a lot unlearning where 'be nice' seems to be the thing holding them back from releasing their true potential. They have made steady and significant progress in the context of being openly GC but there's still some way to go. I suppose they can but look on in admiration while some continue to contort themselves in and out of the misty cognitive dissonance and others wear their badges with pride. It's quite an interesting phenomenon to observe among this demographic.

Interesting, thanks.
Be nice has a lot to answer for.

We saw recently that the deliberate conflation of trans issues with racial issues is a determined tactic that is being used by the trans lobby. They know they are failing to get their 'truth' across and so are attempting to manipulate public opinion in this way instead. They have also hijacked LGB sympathies in service of their aim.
