Probably not. It's nigh on impossible to sack someone in Italy. This ruling is awful but wasn't it in Italy that a judge ruled a woman couldn't be raped if she was wearing jeans as they were hard to remove?? 😡

The thing is that if the law fails so badly then there will be plenty of people willing to step in and resolve matters themselves. How are Italian fathers going to respond to this? Being told anyone can molest their daughters? This will result in violence.

I was thinking that... he might be "innocent", he might keep his job... but so many men, who might oogle other girls will only respond way if their own daughters are threatened.

@DuesToTheDirt I'm glad you did. I dislocated a man's shoulder when he did it to me in a club, more by luck than judgement. I sincerely hope he never did it to anybody again.

For me it was just instinct, no thought went into it. Due to the public location and other circumstances though, I didn't feel threatened by him. I probably would have reacted differently on my own in a dark alleyway.

Unbelievable but somehow doesn’t surprise me given that the patriarchy is very much alive and kicking in Italy.

I wonder how the judge would feel if the caretaker in the courthouse groped him for ten seconds on the stairwell, and pulled down his trousers? What would happen to the caretaker? I think we know the answer.
