I’m gutted, I’m such a huge fan of his. I’ve been hugely looking forward to the second series of Good Omens.

And now this. When challenged on it, apparently he said “I’m OK, TERFs can’t climbs stairs”.

How very disappointing.

I'm really keen to leave kids who identify as trans alone. I don't want them to bind and amputate their breasts and take cross sex hormones and puberty blockers to make them sterile and debilitated.

Absolutely. Leave trans kids alone.

TragicMuse · 11/07/2023 22:56

I'm absolutely heartbroken. So so disappointed

PimmsandCucumbers · 11/07/2023 22:58

Does it really say ‘you absolute freaks’ because that is a really offensive word, used against people with disabilities historically.

Museya15 · 11/07/2023 23:03

i watched a programme about trans kids, got all the support from mum and dad, went and got the change thing and they were still bloody depressed, more so than bloody before. If my child comes to me about wanting to be a boy, I will just say no, you can do what you like when you’re 18.

InstantGratificationDarkPlaygroundOfMN · 11/07/2023 23:07

He is a Scot who rose to fame by playing a Sci-fi character with an English accent.
It's called acting.
He had already been in Takin' over the asylum, Blackpool and Casanova before getting the Tardis role.
Loved him in There she goes and am looking forward to Good Omens 2.
If he wants to support his kid publicly, that's his choice.

LastTrainEast · 11/07/2023 23:08

People who disagree with you on this issue are not handmaidens. We are not doing it for the approval of men.

Actually someone going along with it because they are desperate for the approval of men would be a better excuse than just liking the idea of curing gay and/or confused kids with drugs and surgery.

When this is over people will be rushing to say "well I never did agree with it of course"

Yasmin Finney is a transwoman who was at trans pride on Saturday wearing a thong and a seethrough body stocking. Very child friendly Hmm

Still, better than all the young women showing off their scars. It's really shocking to see that all the male people look well and healthy and the only body differences seem to be hormonally induced swelling in the breasts. Whereas the female people are all either scarred or cheering about removing their breasts. And/or disabled. It's a fucking shocking state of affairs. It is profoundly misogynistic and I weep for our girls and young women.

apologies. Gone a bit off topic.

BUT THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE CHEERING DAVID.

Goodness. There are some … disturbing people on that Vogue link.

Did the second part of my post not suit your narrative. He is an actor. His stock in trade is unreality. Why would anything that he says IRL be relevant?

whynotwhatknot · 11/07/2023 23:24

Youre not the only one i watch everything hes on

really disappointed-how would a tenyear old know that theyre not ether sex

WhiteFire · 11/07/2023 23:32

Yep, right there on the t-shirt.

I like David Tennant. I enjoy watching him act. I don’t care about his opinions.

I don’t know why anyone gives much credence to the opinions of celebrities. Unless they illustrate that they have expertise on a particular topic, they are no more qualified to speak than any other person. Some do the research and groundwork and then leverage their celebrity to make a real difference on tough issues. Most just seem to pay the same kind of lip service to causes that the rest of us do, with retweet’s and slogans.

twelly · 12/07/2023 00:02

I was a huge David Tennant fan and am disappointed to hear his views - of course he is entitled to his opinions. I strongly disagree with his standpoint.

Quiverer · 12/07/2023 00:12

He's not saying that, though, is he? He just wants children like his own to be left alone and not persecuted, which hardly seems unreasonable.

Quiverer · 12/07/2023 00:14

Sorry, my message makes no sense without the message it was replying to. Here is how it was meant to be:

It never fails to boggle me that people can think drugs which sterilise children and removing of healthy body parts is a GOOD idea and the people against it are the baddies. Especially now with the mountains of evidence against the Tavistock. I mean, it’s just completely bizarre logic defying cultist behaviour.

Countdowntowinter · 11/07/2023 22:48

Oh dear another misogynistic man. Boring how the men side with the men in dresses.

Dr Who wasn't great on reality was he.

I think he's siding with his child. As you would expect.

Rudderneck · 12/07/2023 00:17

I'd have been quite surprised tbh if he wasn't unremittingly woke.

I enjoy him as an actor but I've never seen any evidence he thinks outside the bubble of the entertainment industry norm.

I'm the same. He's been in great stuff, Good Omens being the latest I've enjoyed watching. Anything outside that isn't worth fixating on (bar anything illegal).

PattyDuckface · 11/07/2023 20:40

This does not surprise me in the least.

A lot of men cannot conceive of why there are any issues at all, because they have never had to fucking think for a second about what it is to be a woman or a girl.

There's a reason why feminists have led the thinking on this issue.

👏👏👏

Nailed it. He's not doing it against his own views to support his kid, he's doing it cos he's got a superficial understanding of the problem and his social set are full on TWAW. Media friendly feminism where girls can be anything they want as long as they are also attractive and supportive.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 12/07/2023 00:49

MaryWelly · 11/07/2023 22:09

Nice one David! Knew I liked him ;) good to see someone not bothered by social media trolling to express support for the trans community

Yeah, it's a really brave public statement to make when the only backing you have is the national broadcaster and the largest commercial channels, three of the four main political parties, several of the largest newspapers, most of the main social media sites, the police, the civil service, the NHS...

Brave, brave David!

HollywoodTease · 12/07/2023 01:07

Nice. Use the word the thugs who kicked Sophie Lancaster to death were chanting to put your acceptance message across? Total muppet.

Tinysoxx · 12/07/2023 01:35

David needs to look at the Vogue photoshoot to see where this is going for their 10 year old if he/she is left alone with the ideologists.

Coyoacan · 12/07/2023 01:38

I just saw that he non-binary child is bearly nine or just gone ten, the same age as my granddaughter who fortunately is still ignorant of all this rubbish.

NotBadConsidering · 12/07/2023 01:48

Telling people who are campaigning for kids to be left alone to leave kids alone. That makes sense 🙄

BodgerLovesMashedPotato · 12/07/2023 01:59

Yes! So good to see this response.
Doesn't he have a child who is non binary? That would explain his stance if so.
I'm a massive Dr Who fan and he's my favourite
