I’m gutted, I’m such a huge fan of his. I’ve been hugely looking forward to the second series of Good Omens.

And now this. When challenged on it, apparently he said “I’m OK, TERFs can’t climbs stairs”.

@GrammarTeacher thank you for posting. I’ve got a genuine question - what does “leave trans kids alone” mean to you? Are you not troubled by the mountains of evidence that the protocols followed for gender non conforming kids are harmful? That the Tavistock had to be closed because it was dangerous for kids? Do the stories of de transitioners not worry you at all? The fact the same sex attracted and autism kids have been so over represented? That children are being sterilised, having their future sexual function removed and being put at increased risk of heart disease and certain cancers?

I don’t think he has a Twitter account, I’ve only seen this referenced from other accounts/news pages.

Put yourself in his position. His kid has been sucked into this. And he is probably trying to show his support.

He will know that you can't change sex. I imagine this is his very poor, privileged way of showing his kid he's not a 'bigot'.

It's disappointing but entirely unsurprising.

I say this as the mother of a son who is in the throes of it, dating a transman. It's fucking hard work and kids know how to manipulate their parents with this stuff now. I imagine he's doing what he thinks will salvage his relationship with his child.

Absolutely, the freaks who need to leave these kids alone are the ones pushing them down a path of long-term medical issues.

I still think he’s a great actor and I would still watch anything he was in. I think we get too hung up on celebrity’s political views. Look at the flack JK Rowling gets because of her views. Instead of mirroring it, let’s just rise above it.

It's not his account, he hasn't got one. His wife is very TWAW on Instagram though and they do have an NB child.

I'm a feminist, and I support transgender individuals. I don't, however, believe that we should be medicating and performing life changing surgeries on children. I think we should be adequately funding therapies to support them through the puberty process which is necessary for our bodies to complete, as difficult as that may be for them. And we should be doing proper psychological evaluations on each child throughout the puberty process and into early adulthood to ensure that gender reassignment is the right course for them.

This does not surprise me in the least.

A lot of men cannot conceive of why there are any issues at all, because they have never had to fucking think for a second about what it is to be a woman or a girl.

There's a reason why feminists have led the thinking on this issue.

I know, separate the art from the artist and all that. But it’s a bit like when Eddie Izzard - of whom I was also a massive fan - started saying he was a woman, there was a moment of “Oh, that’s really disappointing”. And comments about “freaks” from Tennant are not just an opinion, they’re insulting.

Anyway, I’m sure Crowley is a massive TERF. He was the one, in the ark scene in Good Omens, who said you couldn’t harm kids

I.e don't cut their healthy body parts off or give them experimental drugs that will sterilise and sexually castrate them and make them lifelong patients.

I mean even in I am Jazz, Jazz's mother is so upset and at one point says something along the lines of 'it''s not normal for a young person to have this many medical issues' at another point both parents say how shocked they were how experimental the surgery was

In no world is gender affirmation leaving them alone it's the absolute opposite.

The new dr who sidekick is trans woman. Push back no doubt for having a female dr who (once). To demonstrate no doubt, we shouldn't get too comfy with representation. Now it's two males. Give with one hand, take with the other.

I hoped it was a photoshopped image, but it seems not. And it becomes more apparent what his motivation is if he has a child who is identifying as non-binary. It's disappointing that he's chosen to add insults to his sloganeering.

Leave "trans" kids alone is what should be happening. Children have a sex and a personality, having a personality with features that are not typical for your sex is not unusual, doesn't need a label and doesn't need to be treated or taken as a deeply significant concept.

Honestly. I love David Tennant, but as pp have said, I can't condone the mindless and mostly irreversible modification of kids.

Also, actors shouldn't be regarded as an authority on anything, other than narcissistic insecurity.
