I detest LOJ's stance on the trans debate and women's rights but I think he has a point here and I agree with some of his other politics. It's a very confusing place to be for me but just because he's an odious little worm on women's rights does not mean everything he says deserves to be painted with the same shit brush.

The arrogance just pours out of him doesn’t it? The fact that he’s using a woman’s right movement to counter argue the right of JSO whilst systematically misunderstanding feminism in EVERY TWEET he writes about gender ideology just boggles the kind.

Has anyone actually researched the multimillionaire that funds JSO? I can’t remember his name but I’m sure there’s a back story with him that won’t be as virtuous as he likes to signal.

It's the same reasoning used to paint women as nazis. That's why it is uncomfortable despite being something we'd initially all have agreed with.

The main difference being: the suffragettes were not prophesying a future devastating impact or a feeling of perceived injustice. They were protesting injustices actively happening to them. No feelings or future involved. JustStopOil and TRAs are definitely not doing that but the nuance is being air brushed away.

I don't like it. That was a feel good, almost the truth, sound bite. But it wasn't entirely the truth.

Is he advocating for JSO to get more violent? I don't think he is, but it could be interpreted that way.

I would take people more seriously, about it being an emergency, if they closed up their big houses, moved to four bedroom standard homes and quit flying in private jets whilst lecturing and taxing the poor. 🤔

It's a false analogy. The correct analogy would be to list the bad things the oil industry have done, such as repeatedly spilling oil into the ocean, as justification for protesting the oil industry.

Call me a cynic but I think if you are entrepreneurial and have made your money being money savvy there will be a financial benefit if you are funding political parties and pressure groups.

To be fair, Dale Vince does not come from wealth. He left school at 15 and was living on peace camps and as a part of the 'peace convoy' in the early 1980's - at the same time that I was.

Matthew Goodwin described these people in his recent tweets.

He now owns Forest Green Rovers and it is the first Vegan football club. approve of JSO or not, he does aim to live by his principles.

He can live by his principles and leave the rest of us to our world views.

He’s trying to show he doesn’t have a woman problem by referencing the suffragettes. They’re from about a century ago so their demands and opinions won’t inconvenience him in 2023 luckily for him.

I just know people who are good at making money like making money. It’s their thing and they’re passion. Maybe the politics align with his, maybe he is a great bloke, but he’ll be making money all the same.
