Blocked on Tiktok...

A transman has posted videos and photos of 'his' pregnancy on Tiktok. I commented saying I am entitled to my opinion but being a transman means you make a choice to live as a 'man' but only females can be pregnant and birth a child. I've been blocked for being 'ignorant'. I'm not wrong, am I?? Only females can be pregnant. Dress it up as you like but saying you're a bloke, growing a beard with whatever hormones you're taking, does not make you a pregnant male - you're a pregnant female with a womb, ovaries and everything a male doesn't have in order to carry a child to term.

Did you post this already somewhere? I fully agree with you however the world seems to have gone completely insane with this stuff in recent years and we really need to get back to normality.

I think there's a difference between addressing an actual human being on their TikTok about their own life and addressing the issue more widely.

Think it's OK t block someone in that case.

You're not wrong. I wouldn't post it on someone's TikTok though because they are never going to agree with you in that kind of forum. They're after praise, validation and attention. Best thing to do imo is ignore.

I really really doubt that there are many people who genuinely believe that people can change sex and that it's possible for a man to become pregnant. They know that transmen are female because you have to be female to be a transman in the first place.

All very valid points made. And of course the Tiktok OP will be protective of comments.

But...! If you post on an open platform and allow comments then you should also accept that not all comments will be what you want to hear? A bit like AIBU here, it's a vipers next!

I see what you're saying but if platforms provide a block option then as well as people having the ability to post what responses they like, the OP has the ability to block them.

MN is a different kind of place because you cannot block people who post stuff you disagree with. But posters are also anonymous and can name change at will.

I don't disagree with your views, but I wouldn't critique a pregnant woman's lifestyle choices on her social media, no matter how strongly I disagreed with her.

And, if I did, I'd expect to be blocked.

You are entitled to your opinion, but that doesn't always mean you need to express it.

They believe in gendered souls.
They believe man/woman means nothing more than your internal perception of yourself, and has nothing to do with biology, or how other people perceive you.

People of this faith will insist you refer to them as a man/woman despite evidence to the contrary.

There's no point arguing because you will get blocked or cancelled. It's the ONE TRUE FAITH and any comments against it is hateful bigotry and literal violence.

Exactly this. They’ve been spoonfed an ideology by a wealthy capitalist lobby (medical-technological) so of course they’re not going to like it when someone points out reality to them.

They’re deluded and for many, there’s no going back and no point offering them a golden bridge.

People can engage with comments how they like though, including blocking the commenter. This being the sex and gender board doesn't change that.

Obviously not everyone believes the same things, but if they're pregnant, I'm sure they're more than aware that they're biologically female anyway.

That account is obviously, as a PP said, expecting applauds.

If you have an open account inviting comments, then why block posters comments? Engage or keep your account private.

I will say again, only females can get pregnant and carry a baby. Males cannot. It is biologically impossible. If people decide they're something else, then, no problem. But don't pretend to be a pregnant man when you're a female who chooses to identify otherwise.
