Blocked on Tiktok...

A transman has posted videos and photos of 'his' pregnancy on Tiktok.

I commented saying I am entitled to my opinion but being a transman means you make a choice to live as a 'man' but only females can be pregnant and birth a child.

I've been blocked for being 'ignorant'.

I'm not wrong, am I?? Only females can be pregnant. Dress it up as you like but saying you're a bloke, growing a beard with whatever hormones you're taking, does not make you a pregnant male - you're a pregnant female with a womb, ovaries and everything a male doesn't have in order to carry a child to term.

There's a documentary coming out about this soon. There was a trans man giving birth on the ward I was in when I gave birth a couple of months ago and there were cameras everywhere (Channel 4 I think?). Should be interesting to see!

But just to reiterate that this is an open to all Tiktok account.

That account is obviously, as a PP said, expecting applauds.

If you have an open account inviting comments, then why block posters comments? Engage or keep your account private.

I will say again, only females can get pregnant and carry a baby. Males cannot. It is biologically impossible. If people decide they're something else, then, no problem. But don't pretend to be a pregnant man when you're a female who chooses to identify otherwise.

You seem to be missing the point, which is, anyone on social media can block you for any reason.

So there was basically a woman who wants to be known as a man yet has not bothered with any kind of surgery or medication to do so having a baby. Ergo a woman on a ward having given birth to a baby but she prefers to think of herself as a man. Ridiculous.

If I went onto the social media account of a Christian celebrating their faith and said "you're wrong and God's not real", I would expect to be blocked.

Obviously not everyone believes the same things, but if they're pregnant, I'm sure they're more than aware that they're biologically female anyway.

Pregnant transmen posting on social media, or featured in traditional media, tend to give off slightly more "look at me and how special I am!" vibes than the average Christian celebrating their faith though. (That's not to say Christians don't make attention-seeking postings sometimes.) If people are going to seek attention then they should expect some of that attention will be negative.

  1. We are not a hivemind on Feminism and are all entitled to disagree with you and it doesn't make those of us who do any less feminists.
  2. I think you were mean.
  3. If someone had lung cancer I wouldn't wave it in their face that it was their own fault for smoking 20 a day. If someone announced that they were a bedspread I wouldn't have an argument with them, I'd tactfully try and establish what help and support they were getting and point them in the direction of someone who could help with their delusions. I wouldn't tell them I thought they were delusional. It's counterproductive.
  4. I don't think going around insulting people and alienating them does anything for the cause tbh.
  5. Yes it was an open channel but that doesn't mean people are standing around like fish in a barrel waiting to be insulted or that they have to listen to you. Free speech does not equal being entitled to being heard by anyone in particular.
