Horrible men. Imagine screaming at her and even kicking her, then pretending innocence.

Sadly inevitable. It doesn’t matter whether it’s primarily a women’s rights gathering, a “trans rights” gathering or an lgbQT+++++ gathering, it’s always women who end up on the receiving end of the violence.

mirax · 28/06/2023 05:45

I dont know who she is but she is one lone protestor against a mob and should have been left alone. This is bullying and assault.

Helleofabore · 28/06/2023 06:09

It Just goes to show that this particular group of people have no capacity to control their rage that someone would disagree with them. There was no impulse control shown.

I hope she is ok. She was assaulted, and she faced violent intimidatory actions.

Such a tolerant group in society that believe that this reaction was the answer. Wonderfully tolerant. i remember attending a women’s rally where there was a lone person waving a trans flag while exercising their dog. Apart from other dogs chasing their dog, no woman or man at that rally even disrupted them. We just left them to it and did our thing.

Her treatment here is horrendous. It will be hand waved away in victim blaming though.

Any comments from Pride organisers condemning her attackers?

Toseland · 28/06/2023 08:04

I really like watching Amy Sousa and KYang on YouTube - well done to those brave ladies xxx

RufustheSpecuIatingreindeer · 28/06/2023 08:19

Very brave women

that rabble should be ashamed of themselves

mob rule is just foul

MissPollysFitDolly · 28/06/2023 08:39

That was awful to watch. Most of that mob were young ladies, I wonder how many even stopped to consider what Yang was protesting about or were they just worked up into a bullying frenzy. Shame on them.

unwashedanddazed · 28/06/2023 09:00

It must be terrifying to be at the centre of a mindless, screaming, violent, mob like that. That is one courageous woman.

IcakethereforeIam · 28/06/2023 12:39

Nothing really to add, I don't know if I'd even heard of her before, but that was incredibly brave.

Ohnohedident · 28/06/2023 12:59

Humans do fucked up shit when they think they have total impunity.

ArabeIIaScott · 28/06/2023 16:57

I'm glad she's safe. K Yang is a very brave woman.

I always wonder what happens afterwards, to the young women who are being used as flying monkeys, who are laughing and chanting and dancing around while other women are assaulted.

Does a glimmer start? Do they ever think 'is this really right?'

At some level, they must see the mob, they are part of it, they must feel it.

Do they honestly not ever question whether attacking a woman, watching men assault her, is the 'right side of history'?

"pro women sign"

I think you meant to say "anti-trans sign".

Yes, and that's the problem, isn't it? You either do think, or pretend to think - not sure which is worse - that women don't mean what they say, because surely you know better what they think.

This is what happen when you pretend the meaning of words changes arbitrarily.

Even when we pick our words carefully, you lie about it.

MerlinsLostMarbles · 28/06/2023 17:44

I watched the video and I agree she was assaulted unprovoked.

But it's worth mentioning the signs she were holding were anti-trans and provocative.

IcakethereforeIam · 28/06/2023 17:50

Really? That's what you're going with! She was asking for it!

MerlinsLostMarbles · 28/06/2023 17:52

No. Assault is never acceptable and hopefully the video can serve as evidence.

spiderplantparty · 28/06/2023 17:54

I suspect the women who are being used as flying monkeys don't stop too much to think about it. They are part of the mob and can see the effect it has on others. The whole situation reminds me of The Crucible.

I liked the lgbt etc flag so prominently on display - just a reminder that they are as responsible as trans people for what happens.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 28/06/2023 18:07

This is the consequence of an ideology that started with "no debate". All words that aren't sublimation and validation are "anti trans and provocative".

How some people manage in the world with their neighbours & communities & the rich diversity that make up our societies I can't imagine? Threats, violence and victim blaming are the only tools some people have at their disposal it seems. Very sad to see.

Froodwithatowel · 28/06/2023 18:43

'Defend female sex based rights' is 'provocative' and 'anti trans' is it?

🙄

Helleofabore · 28/06/2023 18:50

Annnnndddd…. Victim blaming by saying her signs were anti-trans is just as dismissive of the violence as ‘just cream pies, silly string and water’.

Toseland · 28/06/2023 18:57

I think she's brave enough to stand in the crowd because she was one of them. She knows she can change their mind as she changed hers - or at least plant a seed of doubt.
I watched both videos very carefully and it's interesting that of 3 clear (to me) assults 2 came from men, the guy in red on the left who kicked her in glee and eventually stole the sign, I think there is also a guy in orange and yellow who kicks from the right and runs off. A dark haired woman throws her drink and screams abuse. The blonde 'bring it!' lady seems scared.
The consequence of #nodebate is that there are a lot of confused people.

Proudofitbabe · 28/06/2023 19:06

Brave woman. Dickheads in the mob. They're always so happy dancy rainbow fluff until someone dissents 🙄
