K.Yang aka the Deprogrammer.com who is herself a detransitioner went to New York Pride with a sign that was pro women's rights and well you can guess the rest.

How do you use the words "unprovoked" and "provocative" in a single post without your head exploding?

Abhannmor · 28/06/2023 19:22

Boy George tweeted defending her right to free speech later on. Well well.....

Is he going to be excommunicated from the Church of the Poisoned Mind ?

MerlinsLostMarbles · 28/06/2023 17:44

I watched the video and I agree she was assaulted unprovoked.

But it's worth mentioning the signs she were holding were anti-trans and provocative.

So if you're provocative you deserve it? Women better not be provocative or they deserve what they get? Don't have a provocative sign women or it's your fault if you're bullied, intimidated and physically assaulted. Don't answer back to your husband women as that sort of provocative behaviour is bound to earn you a black eye. Don't wear provocative clothes women or it's your fault if you get raped.

Victim blaming at it's finest I see.

Abhannmor · 28/06/2023 19:44

So what you are saying @MerlinsLostMarbles is that she provoked this assault and it was also 'unprovoked '. Thank you and goodnight.

Any road I never heard of her before but I gave her a follow just now.

Helleofabore · 28/06/2023 20:31

It is clear that Merlin just cannot help themselves in explaining just how women who don’t agree with them are to blame for the violent attacks and intimidation they receive.

It really is just as dismissive as all their other actions of dismissing violence. This time they obviously felt if they said something first it would make people think they weren’t dismissing it this time. But of course, it was the classic victim blaming sleight of hand.

All because some posters cannot accept that extreme trans activists simply cannot tolerate any different point of view. And they think that they are righteous and justified for their actions.

And some people just excuse them time and time again as ‘it is justified’. Once you see it, you really cannot unsee the many hypocrisies and inconsistencies and dishonesties in that particular political movement.

ArabeIIaScott · 28/06/2023 20:33

Recklessly using the word 'woman' is practically genocide, after all.

RufustheSpecuIatingreindeer · 28/06/2023 20:36

Its the gross hypocrisy that annoys me the most with that particular poster

we’d never fucking hear the last of it if it were the other way round

they don’t have one single redeeming feature

(disclaimer….i don’t think that anyone should be assaulting anyone. I don’t care what their views are )

Abhannmor · 28/06/2023 20:39

Just had another swim through the sewage bed and George is being told off quite a bit. As in ' this is your mob mate , bit late to condemn their violence'.

JanesLittleGirl · 28/06/2023 21:25

No hint of woolly thinking where someone can be subjected to an unprovoked attack while being provocative.

I appreciate the attempt to be even handed but, seriously, it's about a 2/10 for actual thinking.

JanesLittleGirl · 28/06/2023 22:53

Hi Merlins, you may benefit from walking through your argument again.

The banner was provocative (your view). It provoked a response (evidently). You accept that the response was disproportionate (you describe it as unprovoked). What would have been a proportionate response?

Murica · 29/06/2023 00:19

K. Yang was also in the thick of it at the NYC Let Women Speak fiasco. She's a badass.

FrancescaContini · 29/06/2023 06:29

That video is very upsetting to watch. The poor woman, being screamed at and kicked. So much for kindness and tolerance 🤬

turbonerd · 29/06/2023 08:06

Fucking hell. I thought those videos of people screaming obsceneties in her face and then at least one thug kicking (KICKING!!) her was the worst.
Then I read the thread and one prominent poster lectures on how she was holding signs that were provokative.

Ok, so does that mean that provocative signs are … what? A ‘dogwhistle’ for ‘kick me’?

Jesus, Marbles you really need to take a moment to reflect and have a quiet Word with yourself. In a non-provocative way, if you think you can manage it.

Very much admire K. Yang. She is no nonsense and properly Brave.

FrancescaContini · 29/06/2023 08:12

Yeah, seems it’s okay to kick people (from behind, so they can’t see it coming) when you don’t like their views.

ArabeIIaScott · 29/06/2023 08:27

although the mob was largely women it was males that actually laid hands on her.

FrancescaContini · 29/06/2023 08:30

How she remains so apparently untouched by the man and woman screaming in her face, I don’t know. You’d think she’d committed an unspeakable crime to their nearest and dearest, such is their fury.

SquirrelSoShiny · 29/06/2023 08:48

Let's all just take a moment to watch @MerlinsLostMarbles make a flailing exit from their view that this 'provocative' woman provoked her own attack by peacefully holding a sign proclaiming biological facts.

'She was askin' for it, lads and ladies!'

PorcelinaV · 29/06/2023 09:13

MerlinsLostMarbles · 28/06/2023 17:29

"pro women sign"

I think you meant to say "anti-trans sign".

More like: "anti trans activism sign".

Does everyone at a Pride event have to agree with the agenda of trans-activists?

These are places for strict ideological conformity?

Helleofabore · 29/06/2023 09:27

What is hilarious is that Merlin honestly thought saying a ‘I don’t condone violence’ kind of statement would hide their contempt and victim blaming. I doubt that anyone knowing their posts would ever be distracted by such a lie.

You absolutely support violence and intimidation against anyone you deem unacceptable. Whether it is women or men, I believe. I mean, did you or did you not support the extremely abusive and extreme intimidation of one single gay man who walked through the crowd at Pride wearing his choice of apparel that others disagreed with? No?

Standing with a sign, wearing the wrong apparel, talking about women’s rights….. all deserving of the violence and intimidation extreme activists dish out because ‘they should just STFU’.

It really is apparent how abhorrent those views are when you start putting all the posts together. It is not far from ‘she made me do it, she made me irate!’’ Or ‘she wore a mini skirt’. I do wonder what merlin ever thinks they are achieving for trans people with their posts. I have come to think they are not supporting trans people, and all they want is that short burst of piety remonstrating women and making trans activists look ridiculous at the same time.

ArabeIIaScott · 29/06/2023 09:58

A feature of genderism is the ability to hold two contradictory views at once.

If you can chant 'transwomen are women' then this should start to become easier.

War is Peace
Freedom is Slavery
Ignorance is Strength

Froodwithatowel · 29/06/2023 11:33

If women holding a sign saying 'protect female sex based rights' is 'provocative' and really she should expect to be battered and assaulted for doing so,

are trans people holding signs about 'trans rights' being provocative too? Would it be equally their fault if someone unprovokedly battered their provocativeness, or is that just ok when you do it to women who lack interesting identities?

🤔

Unprovoked and provocative? The ability to live with such cognitive dissonance is always astonishing.

TheBiologyStupid · 29/06/2023 23:55

Oops, late to the thread and I see that idiocy had already been commented on - apologies.

Really? That's what you're going with! She was asking for it!

Do you say that of all women who are attacked, violated and assaulted? "She was ASKING FOR IT" .

Vile.
