I've seen comments on twitter that she has wanted all videos of her to be taken down due to the backlash she's received.

WarriorN · 22/06/2023 06:50

Articles like this must be doubly traumatising for her.

Gah, it's a fucking mess.

WarriorN · 22/06/2023 06:51

There's a big differences between doing an interview with a paper and a paper plucking something up from YouTube or twitter.

Needmoresleep · 22/06/2023 07:04

That does not surprise me. If she has regrets and is detransitioning, she will be cutting herself off from the trans community, and won’t be popular. It will be so difficult to both admit to, what is a huge life changing mistake and and for a clearly vulnerable person to move from being feted at 16 to hated at 22.

In the Mails defence it is terribly important that people are aware that regrets happen, and that 16 is really to young to be able to make such decisions. Hopefully the more and the earlier stories like these are reported, the smaller the number of today’s teenagers who will travel down the same route.

I feel so desperately sorry for her. Her video was heartbreaking. 14 when she started on testosterone. 14!

WarriorN · 22/06/2023 07:13

The problem for me is that we don't understand the impact of using these stories when consent hasn't been fully given.

The medical community is failing these individuals doubly as there's zero support.

Even those who willingly speak out struggle.

Whilst it's important to recognise the massive issues with transition and also how the media stoked up, encouraged and love bombed youngsters who decided they're trans as MTV did here, glamourising their stories, they need to be mindful around how the inevitable problems are also used and paraded.

Whilst stories are important as part of public health campaigning there's also an individual behind it who's extremely vulnerable.

dimorphism · 22/06/2023 07:14

If it wasn't a cult there wouldn't be such a Terrible backlash when people detransition. Acceptance for everyone, unless the truth doesn't fit the narrative.....so not acceptance for physically damaged young people then.

Great comment below the article:

" If you can't drink, smoke or vote- you should NOT be able to change your gender. Period. It's a massive change that should NOT be taken so lightly."

WarriorN · 22/06/2023 07:14

There needs to be a responsible public health campaign that's well organised and safeguards the individuals who this affects.

SallyLockheart · 22/06/2023 07:18

This is chilling. There is seemingly little focus on the impact of testosterone on the female body and its impact on female anatomy, so its good to see it spelt out. But terribly sad for Milo.

"Doctors gradually upped her testosterone dose. Over the years, it caused her vagina to atrophy — a common symptom of female-to-male transitioners, who experience dryness, irritation, and bleeding.
Due to the discomfort, last year, aged 21, she underwent a hysterectomy."

I cant imagine being thw surgeon who cuts open the body of a young woman and removes healthy breasts. How do you justify that to yourself at the moment you cut into a near child?

Some of them actually seek to revel in it. There’s that psycho surgeon who posts about ‘yeeting the teets’.

Sugarfree23 · 22/06/2023 07:54

Anyone else notice it's female to male transitioners who seem to have later regrets.
But ultimately nobody should be allowed to have drugs or make changes to their bodies before they are 18, the same as a tattoo.

ftmquestions · 22/06/2023 08:00

Where is the original video from Milo?

Needmoresleep · 22/06/2023 08:12

It appears to have been posted on Wednesday (and reposted on another thread here) then taken down. WarrierN suggests there was backlash on Twitter.

Evidence perhaps that transition is lauded, detransition not.

She took it down but it's being shared on Twitter. The DM piece say they've not confirmed it with her.

Walkerbean16 · 22/06/2023 08:13

What I've done to my appearance and my body has almost been a survival tactic or a form of protection against unwanted attention from men,' she said.

This is heartbreaking.

We've all known this is one of the reasons for transition, it's been obvious for a while.

And breast ironing is illegal but removing breasts entirely from children? Apparently fine.

It's blatantly obviously wrong.

Francesgumm · 22/06/2023 08:32

I watched her video too - it was indeed heartbreaking.

There are males too, who regret that they now in effect are eunuchs.

Being bullied, homophobia, tendencies to ASD are all things that seem common for those who seek to escape their bodies. It is a fucking travesty they are being sold this lie, then mutilated in the worst possible way.

LakeTiticaca · 22/06/2023 08:38

What a desperately sad situation. Rendering children sterile with no sexual function needs to be made a criminal offence with a long prison sentence

Abhannmor · 22/06/2023 08:39

What can be done to help these poor young people?

It should be a priority of the next government. If the Labour Party can somehow access reality again.

ArcticSkewer · 22/06/2023 08:42

Sterilising people with autism has been a solution societies have supported since it was possible to carry out surgeries. I see this in the same light, as the subconscious reason why there is a lot of societal support for these surgeries.

It's an absolute tragedy what is being done to these children.

Even worse if there is backlash as they try to speak up when they are adults.

dimorphism · 22/06/2023 09:03

What I don't understand is the doctors who are continuing to prescribe testosterone when it is having such devastating impacts on a female body and causing so much pain to the point of surgery that would normally only be undertaken at that age if there's some terrible disease. At some point don't they say 'no, the side effects and physical problems are outweighing any benefits'? Like they would for any other treatment?

CurseYouPerryThePlatypus · 22/06/2023 09:09

At what point do the TRAs accept there are too many detransitioners to silence? How long till we get to that critical number?

stealtheatingtunnocks · 22/06/2023 09:10

Poor kid.

what future is there for detransitioners?

pain grief and hospitals and daily reminders of decisions you regret?

their suicide rate is going to be shocking

i cant bear it
