In the leaked recording, Sunak can be heard saying: “It shows his spectacular misjudgement and why he’s completely unfit to lead our country.”

It is unclear who Sunak is referring to, but likely to be the Labour leader Keir Starmer, who has also come under fire for appearing to support proposals for schools to ‘out’ trans pupils to their parents.

“Over the same period of time, you might have noticed Ed Davey has been very busy,” Sunak continues.

“Like me, you can probably see that he was trying to convince everybody that women clearly had penises.

“You’ll all know that I’m a big fan of everybody studying maths to 18, but it turns out that we need to focus on biology.”

Likely a strategic leak, let's see if any of this ends up influencing policy. Or if it's just all talk and no action, as per usual.

I have utter contempt for Rishi "Dodgy Diddyman" Sunak, but I don't think that soundbite suggests that he thinks women can have penises. He's mocking those who say that they can.

I think it's strategic leak. I think they won't get the equality act clarification in for the election. It's the one chip they have for the election so they will use it accordingly.

They will lose the election thus throwing women under the bus because labour and the lib Dems will screw women completely.

Honestly the best thing the Tories can do is to get more and more sunlight onto this and expose what our children have been subject to in schools. They can fix some things (e.g. ensuring schools go back to the law and provide single sex toilets, stopping the safeguarding failure that is social transition without parental knowledge etc) to show they're serious.

The more this is talked about, the better for the Tories.

However shit the country is, and it is, no-one wants someone who's totally deluded about reality as PM. They'd never make any difference because they'd just identify that everything was better and not actually do anything.

How are they throwing women under the bus? If you're talking in terms if this ussue, surely it's Labour and Lib Dems thar are throwing women under the bus. Which follows that anyone voting Labour or Lib Dem are throwing women under the bus.

Because they have the opportunity to do something pre election. But they will use it as leverage to try and win an election instead. Which they know they are unlikely to win.

So instead of doing the right thing by women to protect them they will use women to try to save themselves. This leaving us at the mercy of The Lib Dems and Labour who won't have the balls to reverse legislation in this area if the Tory's did managing before an election.

I agree. The Conservatives are in power now, so why aren't they doing anything about the shit-show which is RHSE?
Why are they letting civil servants create pro-trans policy and undermine institutions like the EHRC? Yes it's great that Rishi knows that only men have a penis, but they are in power and could be doing much more than they are. Having said they they did block the awful anti-women and children 'reforms' in Scotland.
