The police are not looking for anyone else, we know how this generally unfolds.

Normal? I don't think so, people wouldn't be so upset and horrified if it was normal. I wonder what the percentage is and what percentage makes it normal?

True. I could have chosen my words better. I guess you know what I'm trying to say though. We feel shocked and saddened in the same way we do about a natural disaster.

Bit of a leap here! Could have been carbon monoxide for all we know. I think maybe wait until the details come out before assuming something when no one knows what happened.”

Quite.

See one of my previous posts that reported CO deaths, it is very different.

Reading the posts on this got me wondering.

To those posters who are chastising women for discussing the fact that a family is dead and that statistically the man is the most likely person to have brought about those deaths, can you direct us to any threads posted on this board about similar cases where the women who think the most likely chain of events was man kills family then himself were in fact wrong.

Thanks in advance.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 19/06/2023 10:44

Whatever you do, @Boiledbeetle don't hang around all day waiting for an answer. One of the 'but women do it do' tribe yesterday tried to derail a threadabout the lead of the IOPC being accused of rape by saying that they could post dozens of links about court cases where women had been convicted of sexual assault against children.

Despite me asking a couple of times those dozens of links still haven't appeared, for some reason.

I’m sorry, are you actually trying to claim that by being aware of factual statistics, we’re being hateful to men? Is that seriously your argument, on the feminism boards of all places? So you want us all to play along and pretend we don’t see male violence in order to make men more comfortable, is that it? And why is that exactly?

So put down all men and use artificial sperm and don't give birth to male offspring because you are condemning them all to lives of being guilty by gender no evidence, investigation or trial required. They were there it must be them. Where does it stop Car crash man must have been speeding no need to look further.
I am pro evidence and trial and pro individuals not discrimination by race, gender or anything else.
I am not and never have said he must be innocent but he may be let the investigation do its job.

Incel out in the wild? Wondering why they get no interest from women?

PSNonsense · 19/06/2023 11:10

@jannier why are you continually ignoring the posts regarding statistics?

It's not about that, it's about due process and the principle of law that you're innocent until proven guilty. It's irrelevant if 99% of the time a suspect of age/gender/race is guilty if you are the 1% that is not don't you think the families are suffering enough wondering without everyone stoning them too? Would you want your child convicted by statistics, prejudice and speculation or facts?

What's an incel? I'm a mother and grandmother by the way. But most on this post are being no better than the men who spout women's inferiority you can't justify using sexism to beat sexism. Sexism is wrong no matter who spouts it.

Due process of law and the small percentage simples.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 19/06/2023 11:15

It's not about that

Yes it is about that. And given that there's going to be no court of law as all the people involved are dead, presumed innocent until proven guilty doesn't apply.

Statistically, how many women are family annihilators? Interestting article here, 10 years old but probably still applies.

It's hardly sexism to point out that nearly all family annihilators are men.

It's not sexism to point out men commit most of the violent crimes.
If we cant name the problem, we (general universal we) cant ever try to fix it.

It's not as if this will go to court, the whole family is dead. Who will we take to court if no one is left alive?

WhiteFire · 19/06/2023 11:20

That's a fairly big leap. A teeny, statistically insignificant percentage of men will carry out the act of family annihilation, but that does not change the fact that this type of crime is generally carried out by men.

As an aside I watch some of the real life crime programs, when a woman has killed her partner there is often a 3rd person involved, i.e. she arranges it but doesn't actually carry out the act.

I was always find it odd that MRAs jump into this sort of thread. Of course it was the husband! MRAs defending this just make themselves look really bad.

Of course not all men kill their family's / are violent are rapists, but almost all family killings / violence / rapes are carried out by men.

MovinGroovinBarbie · 19/06/2023 11:33

Until we as a society take men's mental health seriously we'll continue to see these tragedies.

All of this.......unfortunately there won't be a trial because not only did someone in that house not only killed members of their family they took the cowards way out and killed themselves too. We know that statistically that person is most likely to have been male. There will be an inquest but their friends and family will never get any kind of justice.

Now, unfortunately, I speak from personal experience here and I can tell you that people making excuses for these men is incredibly traumatic to the surviving family so @jannier if/when it is confirmed that he killed his wife and children i really hope you come back here to make an apology and don't do what a number of people did when this happened a member of my family and try a justify his actions in any way.

True, and is one explanation as to why they get longer prison sentences as it's considered pre meditated.
