Seriously what chief of operations really says that they only just want 10% of their customers and are happy with them just being really loyal? And the audacity to claim that people won't stick to boycotts? I visited a Target after it was all kicking off on social media about their pride product line, and at midday (after schools had broken up) it was so SO quiet, eerily so.

Another thing: can you imagine working there and being told that you shouldn't be in a store and you're a bigot for having gender critical views? Sounds to me like grounds for a constructive dismissal case...

I wonder if GC employees would have grounds for claiming constructive dismissal.

It's not like Wicke's products are special in any way. I'll just start going to B&Q. If I can find an independent DIY store, I already just use that.

I checked them out on Trustpilot and a lot of dissatisfied customers there.

Wickes is expensive and not that good IMO. I use Toolstation as my first choice but have just found out they are owned by Travis Perkins, who also own Wickes.

Screwfix are owned by B&Q, but Screwfix and Toolstation were started by members of the same family.

Screwfix have changed their twitter logo (https://twitter.com/Screwfix) but nothing Pride/LGBT related in their tweets, or on their website.

I couldn't see anything on B&Q's social media about pride apart from an icon change to rainbow. Have they toned stuff down now?
The arrogance that wickes is the only place to buy paint! Let's all share good paint shop options where people don't call us bigots! We want to try the Lick Pro stuff from Screwfix as they have really nice colours- has anyone used it before?

Screw fix is one of our amateur house renovations supplier of choice. Wickes may be on the lgbtq+ wagon but they are yet another company with a token approach to reasonable adjustments for those with autism (with no overlap into the aforementioned group). I was already doing a one woman boycott of them because of their off-hand approach. And their range is poor.

Am sick of company’s taking the easy route to being inclusive, much easier to swap loo signs then actually learn how to approach potential staff with autism but this isn’t the discussion here.

Although Screwfix had a really awful automated virtual interview which was akin to flashing lights at you, they always have stock.

Anyway wickes share price is struggling a little today.

As the advert song goes: “Welcome to my world, won’t you come on in?”

Turns out, 90% of us are not welcome after all. Wickes need to change their tune.

You'd have thought that the Chief Operating Officer would have more important things to worry about than misgendering etc. The whole company has been on a downturn for three years and this won't exactly help, telling 90% of his customers not to shop there.

I wonder how shareholders are feeling this morning, after a dire few years, shares are down another 4% today.

Wickes closed the store on our side of the city (as PP have said, they were already having problems). The other store is the other side through horrendous traffic so we don't bother going. So I can't boycott them. Oh well, hey ho.

Cat3i if you want to show how virtuous you are you could just pop to Oxfam for a milk jug, but where I live they no longer exist
