Seems Rosie Duffield and Neale Hanvey were also threatened.

The Met Police appear to have dismissed an earlier threat.

Does in no way condone any death threat.

That's all you need; Mishi, Hope that helps.

FFS 🙄

What did JC say that was allegedly disrespectful?

She rolled her eyes when someone spoke at length about the vulnerability of trans people which is why women aren't allowed safeguarding anymore.

Ramblingnamechanger · 14/06/2023 19:01

How can this be appealed? Where is the best place to protest. Absolutely disgusting that this man wasn't immediately removed from the streets and charged. Solidarity with all those that spoke up.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 14/06/2023 19:01

for fuck's sake

yup

that's all I've got

Boiledbeetle · 14/06/2023 19:06

Neale Hanvey has tweeted he's going home as the police can't protect him.

Boiledbeetle · 14/06/2023 19:08

His tweet text

I have left Parliament & London for the week as I have lost all confidence in the @metpoliceuk to take my safety seriously.

Having to explain the threats and the police’s indifference to my husband was quite surreal.

Nothing will deter me from defending my rights, the rights of women or the rights of trans people.

This chaotic and dangerous movement have made it clear, they have run out of legitimate arguments and are resorting to coercion, hyperbole and threats of extreme violence.

There is no place for this behaviour in a democratic society.

My sincerest thanks to so many for your generous support.

SideWonder · 14/06/2023 19:09

So Mrs Farrow is surveilled within an inch of her life because she might be a stalker, but the deranged individual dealing out death threats to Members of Parliament the police throw up their hands?

On the grounds of threatening our democracy it’s outrageous. That’s before we get to the terrorism of threatening individuals for perfectly lawful beliefs.

Mochudubh · 14/06/2023 18:53

Where is PC Plod from the Toytown Constabulary when you need him?

I'm sure he could lecture explain to us all why this is absolutely nothing like CF/KJK/MM etc, and nauseam.

I know right? Pops up with astonishing rapidity when malfunctioning partially-sentient support bipeds need to be disciplined, but mysteriously absent when the shoe is on the other foot. Anybody would think they're, um, not impartial.

Boiledbeetle · 14/06/2023 19:12

Must be at work!

GCalltheway · 14/06/2023 19:26

It is outrageous. What has the country come to! How is this ever okay??

ArabeIIaScott · 14/06/2023 19:32

Well, the thing is, it's 2023 and women have been declared second class citizens, you see.

Well come on it's not like members of Parliament have been attacked and murdered in the last few years is it?

OH NO HANG ON THAT HAPPENED!

Fucks sake. Are there no depths to which the police won't sink to demonstrate their misogyny and incompetence!

Mochudubh · 14/06/2023 19:37

So what kind of threats to kill DO the Met take seriously? Is there something wrong with the wording of the threats? Are they not clear or unambiguous enough? Are they “just a joke”?

ArabeIIaScott · 14/06/2023 19:45

Plenty of comments on Twitter to the tune of:

'It's completely unacceptable anyone receives death threats but ....'

Why can't they stop at the first part? They're actually equating her rolling her eyes with death threats. It's absurd, and frankly it's getting dangerous.

don't! it's like Beetlejuice, if you say The Name we'll be 25 pages in with nothing said before we know it

FrancescaContini · 14/06/2023 19:46

I despair. What a time to be raising girls and young women.

Someone should make a website displaying tweets the police have decided require an interview vs tweets that don't meet the threshold side by side.

Would be interesting viewing.

Absolutely. Would make a great art exhibition.
