Oxfam, Innocent Smoothies & drinks, Green Periods & others have deleted offensive tweets in recent days. This really is a positive, the pushback is growing larger & the boycott culture sweeping the USA is definitely growing momentum here as well.
Pride is also toned down with many high street companies & independent companies literally not flying the flag.
Are they finally waking up to the fact that customers will actually take their hard earned cash else where if they don't agree wit the companies "ethics" & "values"?
There is positives & the tide is turning.
Certain newspapers besides the Daily Mail have also woken up & are publishing the facts.

British Library also deleted an offensive tweet.

I took out an annual telegraph sub despite holding a 13 year grudge against them Grin their coverage has been too good to ignore and no share tokens so forked out £49

Suncreamweather · 10/06/2023 21:31

@mcduffy you should email The Telegraph & to let them know that & hopefully they'll continue with the coverege that's needed . I've emailed the Daily mail☺️ they're playing a blinder & I will continue to buy the dm in the morning as they are publishing what I want to read. Good on the Telegraph & Daily Mail for not bowing down to this nonsense & for not being silenced.

There's the tweet but they deleted it due to the backlash & pushback much to the disgust of the woman hating woman phobes😂 well they better get used to it! More & more companies no longer jumping on the bandwagon as this month is proving.

The US navy also removed it's pride flag & Target have been hit big time in the US & have removed lots of merchandise. But the boycott against them is massive.

The Times has also been really good on this, and has some great women writing about it - Janice Turner is an absolute star, and Hadley Freeman is now there after leaving the Guardian, among others.

Well an email of appreciation should go to the Times, the Telegraph & Daily Mail for publishing the hard truths & the facts.

What did The British Library say?

Trans people are trans because fish can be hermaphrodites.

I'd say ludicrous, rather than offensive. And followed by a classic non-apology, "We were right, but you meanies bullied us". Embarrassing.

Suncreamweather · 10/06/2023 22:36

They deleted it though which is a positive 😁 Love seeing these tweets go up & any sniff of backlash they are quickly taken down!

Back to the fish argument thought that had been debunked enough long ago. Pathetic.

@GailBlancheViola yes, completely!

It was pointed out to them that fish are not humans. With similar responses to the equally ridiculous comparisons being drawn between crocodiles and trans people.

The trouble is that all this stuff throws out genuine and important diversity with the bath water. I am 100% pro LGBT rights and don’t like the backlash, especially in America, against them. Just as the trans movement has destroyed womens spaces and rights, it is destroying important support for LGBT rights.

That was warned and warned and warned about but ignored.

Suncreamweather · 10/06/2023 22:59

@WorkingItOutAsIGo big time. But now is absolutely the time for lgb to break away fully from the tqs. Very difficult but it needs to happen.

I agree as regards lesbians, who can't win, either way. I have to say that I struggle to care too much about gay men as a class, having seen how they gleefully threw women, especially lesbians, under the bus for gender ideology. Not all gay men of course -there have been some brave exceptions. But there have also been many who were, and are, cheerleaders for TRA attempts to erase women's rights.

Unfortunately, there is a deeply misogynistic strain of gay culture (though I am not suggesting for a moment that all gay men support it.) Any gay man who was OK with Michfest, and other lesbian sex-segregated activities, being shut down, can suck up all the backlash coming his way, as far as I'm concerned.

In reality, though, I recognise that the backlash will also affect women and non-misogynistic gay and bi men, and I am sorry about that.

It's awful for lesbians.

I think the tide will turn & the lgb breakaway will happen when gay men fully feel the affects the way lesbians currently are.

but male seahorses give birth?!?

I think they’ve worked out this isn’t the cash cow they thought it might be. There was definitely a market for the ‘pink pound’ especially gay men, often 2 men with no children and professional wages. Trans not so much. Woke 20 year olds and middle aged men in dresses (probably divorced) are not a major spending demographic.
I was in Tesco today, lots of Pride stuff available. It was in quite a rough area in a north east town, I can’t imagine it’s much of a seller.

gogohmm · 10/06/2023 23:26

I wouldn't hold up any actions in the us as an example, homophobia is still rife outside the big cities and this is the excuse they needed. Baby and bath water seems to be appropriate here, huge difference between protecting the rights of biological women to be safe and a return to the bad old days of homophobia

Agreed. It has alienated people who once were natural allies of the community.

Parisj · 11/06/2023 00:27

I hate the backlash. Free speech is important and hopefully moderate voices will bring compassion.

Yes I no longer resent paying for my Telegraph subscription....everyday there is delightful coverage and the comments are great fun to read as their whole readership seems to have 'peaked'.
Daily Mail were the first to publish and be damned but the Telegraph comes a close second.
'No debate' went on for far too long and it should never have happened in a democracy in the first place.
Too many people were too afraid to speak out common sense and as a result many innocent children (and women) have been harmed.
