Oxfam, Innocent Smoothies & drinks, Green Periods & others have deleted offensive tweets in recent days. This really is a positive, the pushback is growing larger & the boycott culture sweeping the USA is definitely growing momentum here as well.
Pride is also toned down with many high street companies & independent companies literally not flying the flag.
Are they finally waking up to the fact that customers will actually take their hard earned cash else where if they don't agree wit the companies "ethics" & "values"?
There is positives & the tide is turning.
Certain newspapers besides the Daily Mail have also woken up & are publishing the facts.

@dcbc1234 some of the comments are just hilarious under the articles on fb.. Telling it exactly how how it is!
But good on those publications, if there is a dm journo lurking on here, keep it lit & keep reporting the hard facts! Same with the Times & Telegraph. The tide has turned it's time to start making waves!

The trouble is that all this stuff throws out genuine and important diversity with the bath water. I am 100% pro LGBT rights and don’t like the backlash, especially in America, against them. Just as the trans movement has destroyed womens spaces and rights, it is destroying important support for LGBT rights.

Which is mission accomplished for Stonewall - they wanted to have to fight for gay rights all over again to give them a raison d'être and that's exactly what they've achieved.

My local Primark have swapped their 'Found Family' display quite fast.

I've had a SM break though so maybe that's old news.

It's bloody hilarious when the bullies start wailing about being bullied.
I haven't read the article, mind you, because the Grain wants me to register, and fuck them.

Can we have a month long international women's day next year? We women are now heading into minority territory & need visibility. We got a day this year which was taken over by TRAs.

I went to the British Library's current exhibition on animals and it was really good. There was a specific section on sexual dimorphism (based on biological reality) and the 3 short films as you exit were all by female artists/scientists.

It's the usual young idiots doing the tweeting.

corporations are not always welcome at Pride, which honors the anniversary of the Stonewall riots, an uprising against police violence led by Black trans women. From the Graun article above. I thought this was untrue. Maybe I'm wrong

IcakethereforeIam · 13/06/2023 14:35

No you're not wrong. Iirc the Stonewall riots were started by a black lesbian called Storme. The black tw was actually a gay man who wore drag, so not even a transwoman. Although now under the trans umbrella. Read Fred Sergeant's tweets, he was there.

I hate the backlash. Free speech is important and hopefully moderate voices will bring compassion.

Thing is, as regards the trans backlash, 90% of people who are now actively GC (in the UK, at least) started from a position of compassion, and our compassion was weaponised against us - "Enjoy your erasure" and all that.

So most of us aren't particularly interested in demonstrating further compassion now, because the same will happen again.

For most of the general public, they are fed up with the hyperbole and being asked to disbelieve the evidence of their own eyes. There are only so many times you can be told it's literal genocide to deny a male in a dress access to a women's changing room before you get desensitised.

I had a rather depressing online chat with a TRA a couple of weeks ago. She(?) said that things were getting worse for trans people - I initially sighed but she said it in such a reasonable rather than hysterical tone that I asked her to explain. She said that people are starting to react negatively to trans people due to the current controversy.

Of course this is entirely due to the excesses of many TRAs and the tendency of many politicians to gaslight the legitimite concerns of women. However, I fear some innocent transwomen will be collateral damange

Pride, which honors the anniversary of the Stonewall riots, an uprising against police violence led by Black trans women.

I can't see that being stated in the Wikipedia entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonewall_riots , as far as that states and as far as I was aware, the Stonewall Riots were the general gay/LGBT community ("cross-dressers" are referenced but that's got to be viewed in the context of what socially conservative police would have considered as "cross-dressing").

I don't want to see a backlash against LGB people, and I worried at the time that the Bud Light Fiasco etc would give cover to those who want to be openly homophobic. I absolutely do not want to see a return to rampant homophobia (or even latent homophobia). But the TQIAA*!?& hitching themselves onto the LGB, with all the women's rights/safeguarding issues that it that seems to have brought was almost inevitably going to cause a huge problem.

As for influencers finding that their takings are down for June...whatever. I find the whole influencer thing quite distasteful.
