I looked for an explanation of the new V shape and circle.
im surprised that the V has black and brown stripes which represent ‘people of colour’, but no white stripe.
to me this suggests that the flag is designed by white people..who are graciously including ‘people of colour’ as being allowed in the gang.

Someone on Twitter this weekend was getting awfully excited about a train emblazoned with a Pride flag. Because obviously there’s not enough visibility already for this rarely-glimpsed symbol.

More worryingly, a London hospital was having an opening ceremony for a new bridge (iirc) connecting two buildings and they’ve spent an unspecified amount on having the whole structure smothered in the Pride flag. The designer of the 'intersex-inclusive flag' (their description), was invited to the grand opening. People on Twitter were keen to know why there was money to lavish on this sort of thing when the NHS is on its knees, and also why the actual hospital was using the term 'intersex' rather than 'DSDs' when challenged. As it’s not a correct medical term.

Yes, the hospital bridge is INSANE. And inviting the flag designer? What is going on?
especially as they have a new flag every week it seems. They’ll have to redo the bridge pdq.
and another thing… zebra crossings! I don’t need a trans zebra crossing! I really don’t. Especially as I didn’t realise it was a crossing, how dangerous is that?

They've been co-opted as evidence that sex is a spectrum. No-one asked.

I find this whole thing hard to take seriously, every time pride week is celebrated in my workplace the acronym has additional letters and the flag has changed.
I don't understand why all orientations can't unite under the traditional rainbow flag without the need for a direct representation to their 'label' with a colour on the flag.
I suppose this is representative of modern society where everybody needs their own label rather than just existing.
The current LGBTQIA2S+ will soon be LGBTQIA2S+BIPOCWETFZKVUY with an all encompassing rainbow polka striped flag that looses it original meaning.
It's fast becoming insincere and making the woke a laughing stock.
Sure unite under a flag, but accept that belonging does not need to directly include your particular affirmation.

Hells bells I already have a "queer" pride flag that encompasses same-sex attracted native people, it's literally just the old one without all the TQ colonizers encroaching space that isn't theirs.

Wow, the amount of anti queer straight people on here putting in their two cents worth on a flag. What a lot of prejudice. It is no wonder why the queer community is so paranoid and feels unsafe right now in the UK and globally.

In essence, the traditional flag has had added the arrow, calling out those in the queer community where progress still needs to be made: people of colour (not white people!), and trans people. Thus the arrow right indicating progress needed.

One doesn't need to scratch too far to find real bigotry lying underneath in some of the comments above. These people are just trying to live their lives and be treated respectfully.

the flag indicates that ALL people with Black or Brown skin are Queer.
And that is simply not true.
