I looked for an explanation of the new V shape and circle.
im surprised that the V has black and brown stripes which represent ‘people of colour’, but no white stripe.
to me this suggests that the flag is designed by white people..who are graciously including ‘people of colour’ as being allowed in the gang.

On that topic, MS recently forced the pride flag into their task bar in Windows 11 (assuming you have widgets enabled). You can disable it apparently by setting your region to Saudi Arabia. Classic MS virtue signalling whenever it's not necessary, tucking it away when it might.

@Boiledbeetle I like the LGB flag with the triangle cut out. Simple to reproduce which is essential. Allows someone to support gay rights without having that support be assumed to be for anyone else trying to hitch a ride.

Ugh! I messed up my last post. I was going to say "don't mention the furries, lest they appear". There was a thread on KiwiFarms about the Linus Tech Tips YouTube channel where one of their team has just declared themselves Emily. The farm's have noticed a lot of posts that are 99% certainly from that individual about furry lifestyle stuff between him and his partner. One tweet complained about how so many kids were "sex-negative" because the Church and puritans preached their morality at them.

Furries! How can the concept of pride be compatible with that? Sloth, gluttony, lust and envy I can see. Pride? No.

I think the organisations that speak on behalf of people with DSDs have been quite vocal that they don’t like the term intersex and then aren’t keen on TRAs appropriating them as and when it suits them.

None of the people involved in making these flags are actually representing the communities they claim to properly. There’s no singular opinion in any of the groups.

But, weirdly reflecting most LGB people’s views on the T seem to be the least important part of the entire flag iteration project.

I think they are just going to have to seperate out all the flags into different colours. Whoever "they" are. The flag committee.

Maybe it means that their next self ID target group - be any sex you like, be any colour you like?

The irony of that is in the bible after god did just this with the great flood he set a rainbow in the sky to show he would never do such a thing again. All we have to look forward to now is the end of days....

I haven't read the full thread yet so apologies if someone else has said this, but women on radfem Tumblr have discussed this with the idea that the arrow points right, with the intention of eventually covering up the rainbow, the way homosexuality is slowly being erased in the LGBT community.

Oh Christ! (Ooh fitting for once) so we've already had the restart and they kicked it off with a rainbow. seems fitting this particular time period will finish with one as well!

it’s getting silly now. I thought the whole point of the rainbow for the LGB community was to show we (all humanity) are under one sky regardless of any form of diversity but in particular sexuality. And rainbows are joyful and seen when sunshine streams through the rain, so a kind of “hold strong through the storm”, which is why we were putting them in our windows at the start of the first lockdown.

The whole making a flag to show you're part of a special group just seems so...key stage one. Is this seriously what well adjusted adults do, make up badges and flags and symbols for their special group?

I think well adjusted is the key phrase there…

It's getting to almost include so much as to be exclusionary. Disabled people are a glaring omission surely? Being LGBTQI+++ doesn't stop you from being disabled
