Insurrection in the toilets

Popped to the loo in a supermarket earlier and THIS greeted me when I closed the door.

Not that I condone graffiti, but can't help admiring the woman who felt compelled to write that.

The writing in the picture in the OP is very similar, wonder if it's the same person.

“Only problem, a trans woman might not see this. A woman sits to pee and would be facing the door. A penis owner stands to pee and would be facing the wall.”

From previously posted threads, the other problem might be that the door’s left open, so the text couldn’t be read anyway.

If I see that anywhere I shall decorate it all the way around with neat red Sharpie hearts ❤️ ❤️❤️

Has anyone considered it may actually have been written by a triumphant trans identified man? I can't imagine many women would graffiti toilets in that way.

Sadly, that crossed my mind too.

Indeed. How can we possibly know whether or not it is someone using TERF as a slur, or someone reclaiming TERF from being a slur?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 29/09/2023 09:08

I think that if written by someone with XY chromosomes it would likely be more direct and triumphant and not ambiguous.

My god, the joys expressed on this thread of making a minority lives so much more difficult then they are now and celebrating criminal vandalism with intent expressed. That is truly sad. How did many of you come to this point where you lost perspective on what you are doing - i.e. persecuting other people.

Personally I find better hobbies than worrying about phantoms. My issue is with CIS men and their behaviours, not such a small minority.

Males shouldn't be in women's spaces. How would they be getting persecuted when they should never be in a position to see the (very mildly expressed) graffiti? Therefore, if they do see it then it is an issue that has to be dealt with.

Anyway, Mishy apparently has better things to do than women defending our rights but the lack of chiding and shaming of those who waste time and cause criminal damage by using the threatening Etsy stickers mentioned upthread is telling.

From my experience of them over the course of my long life, I think many people with XY chromosomes, regardless of their gender, would not even realise the potential ambiguity in the first place. NAMALT but most don't think in this nuanced way. If it was a TRA of the male sex who wrote it, I'm pretty sure that that person was certain that it was direct and and unambiguous - and that it was a personal triumph for them to have written a slur on GC feminists in the actual ladies' loos...

Let me guess, the OP did this just to post on here?

I support LGBT rights but I don't go around vandalising property.
