Men who have this paraphilia and are obsessed with the idea of removing their body parts should be able to seek help for therapy and it's very sad that this sadistic guy preyed on them.
I think it's frightening that WPATH wanted 'eunuch' to be added on to the list of gender identities.

The NHS uses WPATH SoC to inform its care.

WPATH SoC posits that someone who wishes to castrate himself and become 'eunuchgender' is a valid gender identity.

As scary as people who want to remove their own body parts are I find people who want to remove other people's body parts, or play a part in removal for sexual or whatever ends far far more scary.
Those people shouldn't be outside of a prison or mental institution.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-11227887/Eunuch-gender-says-prominent-pro-trans-advocacy-group.html

'Published in the International Journal of Transgender Health, the WPATH's new standards argue eunuch is a gender identity, and furthermore one that can require 'affirming treatment'.
'As with other gender diverse individuals, eunuchs may also seek castration to better align their bodies with their gender identity,' they said.
'Like other transgender and gender diverse individuals, eunuchs require access to affirming care to gain comfort with their gendered self.'
This gender-affirming care could include both chemical and surgical castration and should be considered where there is a risk the individual will attempt these acts themselves if not provided, the authors argue. '

Eunuch is a gender, say world's largest trans health group

An influential transgender health group with almost 100 British members, some working in the NHS, says being a eunuch is a valid 'gender identity' which should get 'gender affirmative' care.

What they need, all of them, is urgent psychological evaluation and care. Urgently.

Eunuchs? FFS. I can't.

These people are sick - literally. That a closely related kind of unnecessary body modification is being promoted to kids and young people makes my stomach turn.

This is terrifying. The men agreeing to be harmed need urgent psychological help and the men carrying it out need to be locked up indefinitely.
Stop the world, I'd like to get off and take my DS with me.

And the Darwin Award goes to...

I really wish I could just accept the above and write off these people, but what they need is treatment and the ghouls who encourage them need prison.

To be fair, there's a long history of self castration by men. To be "pure" usually. As well of course if forced castration of prisoners aeons ago.

I do feel mute tho at the whole thing. Aghast. Sad. Fearful. What actually is it with men??

I cannot cannot understand what goes through people's head that the end result is this.

I totally understand wanting a limb that is damaged/causing actual pain to be removed. Because you would do anything to stop the pain.

But as someone who has never understood body modification or why people would want to have bits cut off, bits inserted I just don't understand how you could get to this level of batshittery.

How awful. Incredible to me that so many of them managed to find one another too.

It kind of seems like there is a big overlap between those two groups though. Not sure how you work out who is the victim.

It’s very interesting to note that people removing limbs because they “feel” they should be an amputee came very close to being the next trans. It was widely acknowledged in psychology for a long time that men who wanted limbs amputated were doing it mainly for sexual reasons , and it was seen as unethical to remove a limb for this reason. Then a few docs came along and said that it wasn’t a fetish, in fact it was as an identity disorder … the brain was telling the body the limb wasn’t supposed to be there. They literally identified as amputees . It was given the official name of biid (body integrity identity disorder) and a couple of surgeons actually chopped peoples legs off . All the same arguments were deployed - this is who I really am, I have a right to do this to my body, I’ll kill my self if I can’t be an amputee. In the end it was entirely nipped in the bud by medical professionals. You get immediately struck off and jailed if you amputate someone’s healthy leg. And it was reaffirmed that it’s just a fetish. There was a massive concern about social contagion, that more and more people interested in amputee porn would be tempted to get limbs amputated. How funny it all is. In a different time line we would probably be doing this to kids.

JKR had characters with BIID in one of the Strike books - she's never knowingly behind the curve!

I remember a documentary about a woman who wanted one leg cut off below the knee. She would feel complete without this offending body part.

This was decades ago and I don't think she could find a surgeon willing to do it. What has changed in the interim I wonder? Possessive individualism taken to extremes perhaps. It is the world according to me and what I want I must get.

Extreme body modification has been around forever. I just want to know the logistics of how they froze the leg while it was still attached for long enough to cause the damage needed to require amputation.

How did they just freeze the leg not any other part of the person it was attached to? Liquid nitrogen?

I presume liquid nitrogen.

I wondered whether they used anaesthetic for the penis and nipple removals. The whole thing is horrific.

Well I feel ignorant. I was imagining they'd packed ice around it and kept replenishing it.

What jumps out at me is this:

These men, who willingly harm each other and those harmed wanted to be so and this is not in question, get prosecuted because it's (rightly) against the law to cause such harm regardless of the wishes of the victim.

While men still get away with literal murder using the defence that the dead woman wanted whatever sick shit ended up in her death.

What a fucked up world we live in.

And yes - these men all need serious psychiatric help and probably secure care to protect other people. Not least because at least one of these is a paedophile who actively harmed at least one child.

Lol, totally, I first thought freezer, how on earth do you isolate the leg though. I guess you could get a chest freezer, then put a leg in, pack all around it so minimal cold escapes.
I wonder if we'll find out.
