My heart sinks whenever I see the word allies; it smacks of blindly following others - over a cliff like lemmings. Asking in good faith- how do you keep up with all the stores and products you have to boycott?

Wow breathtaking lack of understanding of the lived experience of mid-life women. I currently do all the shopping for two families (that whole pesky caring thing), I know other women who do the shopping for 4 families.

Keeping track of companies promoting inappropriate sexualisation of children / sterilisation of children / rampant misogyny is easy compared to the likes, dislikes, allergies and diets of from 6-16 people.

When I see 'allies' now I immediately assume whoever is using the word is trying to distract from the issue and trying to shame other people, usually women.

However much a certain determined group of people try and shut parents up by trying to 'align' having safeguarding concerns with alt right views, it's going to fail.

Honestly if the choice is properly safeguarding children and being labelled 'right wing' vs giving free rein to those trying to abuse my children, I'm happy to be labelled 'right wing' thanks. If it means fewer children are harmed, I'll embrace it.

In a thread that was deleted a MNetter in the US went to her local store to have a look and what she found mirrored what I read online which was that there was a separate Pride Section in the stores with themed merchandise in it different from their usual offerings. In this, the adult and children's sections were not separated - so, for example, there was a row of t-shirts ranging from toddler to extra large adult sizes. The bathing costume found in the original video was, I think, found in this section.
