'Left' & 'Right' are flexible and changing political polarities which evolve with time according to circumstances. There may be a certain set of fairly fixed, key values, but apart from that it is a moveable feast.

This isn't a left or right issue, i think what we are seeing within the political parties is that the conservatives are allowing disagreement, labour not so much.

Another problem is that politicians support policy without any understanding. Thats why politicians have said babies are born without a sex, surgery changes sex, sex is a spectrum. All of which clearly arent true. Or most people believe it, men who want to be women are the most marginalised in society - nothing that is relelevant when removing safeguarding.

Now that the media have started to ask questions, politicians have been exposed. They were either conned by activists, or went into this knowing they were comprising safeguarding. Neither is good.

I can’t believe Balls has drawn attention to his execrable “interview” with Kathleen Stock. The normal response would be to keep your head down for a week or two and hope everyone forgets about it. I can only assume he thought he did rather well, and is proud to associate himself with it. Maybe his son told him he “done great Dad!”

Seriously? That is pure Humpty Dumpty. It certainly doesn't support the argument that the current government is politically, socially or fiscally to the right of Thatcher. I could equally argue that Boris Johnson presided over the most left wing government since Jim Callaghan.

Clueless , I agree. Also I was surprised by his expression in the interview , when he says “I knows what most people think”, and KS responds with a laugh and “I can see that” (or along those lines). His face flickers with genuine anger. I very much did not like that. Very revealing.
