Just posting this as on a thread elsewhere I made some disparaging remarks that the debate will be shuffled off to some small committee room.

But they must think that more than a few MPs are wanting to take part as I have just seen it will be in Westminster Hall.

Will be interesting to see which MPs are willing to state views about the reality of biological sex in public!

Event will be broadcast live.

Great - Loughton pointing out that grassroots and junior sports need protection.

Good!

Isn't Russell Lloyd Molle the one who tried to intimidate (using his male sex) women in the chamber?

CriticalCondition · 12/06/2023 18:28

What was that utterly misleading and irrelevant intersex interjection?

Boiledbeetle · 12/06/2023 18:28

@WarriorN
"I felt Kirsty Blackman was proper telt".

Please tell me more.

I'm not watching but KB is my MP, I stopped voting SNP over this issue and KB's TWAW stance in particular.

Surely his "there are non binary women & non binary men" comment is the most serious bigotry and eradication of NB people?

Ha! Surely the whole point is that non-binary "folx" refuse to acknowledge the fact that they are either men or women....because they are simply non binary, and nothing else....

So that's an oops. Bit of an own goal there then - even they can't keep up with their own compelled language.

Hint: because it's utter bollocks.

Thanks to all narrating the speeches - I can't watch it as I'm too enraged right now. My blood pressure can just about cope with following it second hand.

Also, still reeling about Jess Philips!!! Come on Keir.....your turn next.

IwantToRetire · 12/06/2023 18:29

Oh god it's 5 minutes hate from Russell Lloyd Molle.

5 minutes of suffering and paid caused by everyone who doesn't think you can change sex.

We are the martyrs.

Should work. If not, you should be able to go to the main part of the website and just look through the options for the Westminster Hall meeting and you can zip backwards to see what people are talking about as well.

The speakers saying sex is already catered for in the existing legislation are stupid. We wouldn't be having this debate if this worked!

Boiledbeetle · 12/06/2023 18:30

15 minutes break

IcakethereforeIam · 12/06/2023 18:30

I started at the end of Eagle and am just at the start of Pollard. I skipped most of Nia Grifffiths. Jess Phillips pleasantly surprised me, I kept waiting for the other shoe to fall. Bottomley had given those books a good coat of looking at, they were falling apart.

What time is it expected to finish?

ArabeIIaScott · 12/06/2023 18:30

what's happened? Did Russell Moyle make everyone run away?

PronounssheRa · 12/06/2023 18:30

ACatCalledPushka · 12/06/2023 18:28

Isn't Russell Lloyd Molle the one who tried to intimidate (using his male sex) women in the chamber?

Yeah, and had the crazy staffer who called a baby a fascist

And if you want a really good laugh look at his speech when he was elected.

ACatCalledPushka · 12/06/2023 18:31

Another bloody vote! But in the 'interval' how do we feel it's going?

I personally feel it's going well.

Catiette · 12/06/2023 18:31

"what's happened? Did Russell Moyle make everyone run away?"

😂

CriticalCondition · 12/06/2023 18:31

RLM cedes to Jess Phillips. Who points out women want single sex changing rooms in pools. Not 'gendered' changing rooms.

chilling19 · 12/06/2023 18:31

Another break - good, time for a loo visit
