Despite LEGO being regarded as being woke, there's just no stopping them as far as producing Harry Potter related sets is concerned, much to the chagrin of the blue haired, anti JKR mob, i'm sure.
Anyhoo, today, pics have been released of the latest set waiting to be released, Dobby with sock and cake. I have no idea what sort of cake it is, perhaps readers of the books, or even non readers of the books might like to put forward their guesses as to what sort of cake it is, perhaps with recipes?

Not sure if i'll buy the set, i don't know the price yet but good to see that LEGO seems to know that cutting ones nose off to spite ones face, isn't really a very good business model. Shame companies like Nike, Budlight, Mabyline, etc., couldn't see that but oh well!

Cherry Madeira sounds like a good bet for a Dursely cake, I wonder if anyone caught the recipe in the movies/books?

Ah, @ContentandThankful many thanks for that info. Sugared violets, eh? I love violets, I did look for some violet scented perfume a while back but couldn't find any, i'm sad to say.
I'd never have thought of putting violets on a pavlova though, sugared or otherwise but our lady of the golden snitch, knows best i suppose! ;-)

Thank you for posting those, I hadn't seen them before, you are quite right, they are genius. I love the Kevin the carrot ads too and was on Aldi's side in the great cake fight of the century. ( I still think there was a Colin the caterpillar type cake in the old Be-Ro books years ago, so i was never sure how M&S could claim copyright, that and i'm sure many a mother has made a similar thing in a rush for a kids party or something. )
Good for Aldi for having a sense of humour, too many people have lost the ability to laugh at themselves these days, imo.

Not sure about your idea for violet perfume though tbh boiledbeetle, seems like a bit of a waste of parma violets and indeed vodka to me but never mind, i do have a bottle of that violet flavoured gin though, that just might do it lol, i did used to think gin smelt like perfume, was never sure if you should drink it or wear it :-/ lol :-D

Will content myself with fantasising about the new Harry potter gymwear that has appeared on the official site. Obviously the fantasy involves having time for the gym too and being able to fit into said gymwear. (Thanks for nothing cake!) Perhaps pavlova is more slimming...

To get back on topic, I hope that Dobby set goes on sale soon (ex husband recently dropped 2 of DD’s perfectly assembled Lego buildings whilst rearranging furniture. The howls of her indignation are still ricocheting around inside my head. Nb: this is not the reason for the divorce, which predated the Accidental Demolition of Diagon Alley)
