I wasn't totally convinced that the writer of the article was as unaware of the issues as made out.
But agree that as a snapshot of how an outsider arriving in Hyde Park might look at the two groups and just not understand what was going on.
I didn't like the implication that anyone protesting drag queens was right wing - or did I mis-read that?
And yes clearly dont understand that any event can be truely open to any one to speak.
Also the description of the police response to the steward being left isolated among the TRAs was obviously written to make it look like it was nothing, and the Met handled it well. (Have to say from the bits I had seen I thought the police woman was reacting to finding they had let one of the stewards be in a dangerous position, and in a sort of panic shoved her out, rather rather than hold back the TRAs and escort her out.)
I noticed that you can in fact comment on the article, but am very aware that LWS and KJK need to have a working relationship with the Met. But thought some of the article opened up the possibility of FWR humourous postings. ie if they think those attening are like the WI, next time should cakes be baked to be shared with the Met, but also an opportunity to drop in some facts about women's sex based rights, - or maybe not.
