This link has been shared by @FOJN on the Marci Bowers thread but I feel the person involved deserves to be remembered and for the horrific injuries inflicted on them in the name of so called medical care to be known more widely so that when this house of cards finally falls these doctors are held to account.

If you read the journal article be warned there are graphic medical images at the end.

For those who cannot, this is a case report of the death of an 18 year old from complications after genital surgery. They died from overwhelming infection originating from their own bowel which was used to create a facsimile of a vagina after puberty blockers and cross sex hormones meant they didn’t have enough penile tissue to use.

Necrotising fasciitis is one of the worst post operative complications I have ever seen and this young person, just legally an adult had 60% of the body area of their skin and subcutaneous tissue removed to try and treat it.

The article lists serious surgical complications as 0.6% or roughly 1 in 200 patients. That’s about the same as the failure rate of a vasectomy and 5x higher than the most serious complication (perforation of the womb) when fitting contraceptive coils.

I am here in tears having read this case, knowing the suffering this young person will have been through. They deserve to be remembered.

This, a thousand times this.

There is no logic, reason or evidence for performing genital reconstruction to create opposite sex-facsimile genitals on people at any age. It fulfils a desire, not a medical need (and sometimes/often that desire is rooted in fetishistic thinking) and the risks of complication and failure far, far outweigh any negligible benefits of so-called 'euphoria'. Jonathan Yaniv's neo-clitoris rotted off in the bath, FFS.

I usually detest ambulance-chasing lawyers. But now I am longing to see them in action.

I want to see huge financial penalties for all involved in this filthy racket. The fines have to be big enough to deter companies and individuals from trying their luck again. I want doctors who have carried out this human vivisection to be banned from ever practising medicine again.

And of course there's a lot more about bloody 'gender identity' [in school RSE lessons] than about how the hormonal changes of puberty can make you feel depressed, anxious, as if you don't fit in your own body. What a failure of adult responsibility. I'm going to have to talk to the school about this again aren't I. Sigh. Feels like pushing a boulder up a hill.

Keep pushing that boulder, @Dimorphism, for your daughter and her whole generation. I’ve been involved in feminist and other campaigns since the 1970s,, and this I think is the most important one we have to win.

What a stupid way to die.

Crikey. Can I just ask how that works? The skin has been removed from the 'conveyor belt' that food travels along, right?

So no food is touching these cells?

How did the cells know to start lubricating when someone eats and food touches the skin in a different part of the body?

I expect it is similar to endometriosis, uterine cells can “bleed” in different parts of a woman’s body.

When I saw this thread I thought it was going to have been done in Mexico or Turkey or somewhere, not the Netherlands. What an awful, awful thing to happen to you.

I was also shocked to read that:
Dr. Marci Bowers, Jennings’s surgeon and president of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, is on record saying that all boys who have their puberty blocked early will never experience orgasm.

I think though the long term effects of blockers will turn out to be worse and worse and worse as the kids on them get older and older. This whole mess is just being handled so, so badly though.

loislovesstewie · 01/05/2023 13:37

How appalling that they can't orgasm! I mean what are we, as a society, doing to young people? No sexual enjoyment, no ability to procreate, possible health issues from cross sex hormones. And this is progress? How did we get here?

I heard this morning that some US states are legislating so that the medics involved cannot be sued.

It really doesake you wonder what it will take for people to work out that this is a oh, hang in, I can't say that on here. Never mind, it's only teenagers lives at stake.
