Mess event cancelled?

Just received an email from IEPro:

Dear customers,
We do apologise but this event has been cancelled. All tickets will be refunded.

Thank you.

But I couldn't find an explanation anywhere. Anyone know?

GL is 6ft 5ins. He does seem to tower over most people. I'm sure Helen is not a leprechaun!

I'm glad it's for a good reason - Artie not being able to attend, and not because of the tears of men's rights activists. Maybe I will be able to arrange my summer visit to London to coincide. I'd love to go to one.

The barrel you’re scraping must surely be bare by now. I saw the tweet that caused the ban you are talking about, it was a reply to a previous tweet and reply. It was so obviously a joke that anyone who thinks he’ll be facing criminal charges really is living in cloud cuckoo land.

So you are saying an event was cancelled before Graham responded to someone threatening to kill women, by summarising their threat, and that got him banned and because he summarised a threat, and yet he is the one to face criminal charges? And all this happened AFTER the event was cancelled but it is the reason it was cancelled?

Make anything you write make sense please.

I was looking forward to this, was going to attend with my DS's GF who is thoroughly fed up and wants to learn more and get involved.

Perils of using automated moderation. A human can easily tell from context what's a real thread and what's not. A bot can't. The Whittle tweet about a NZ welcome has apparently been removed - don't know if it was deleted by Twitter or Whittle - but that was blindingly obviously an incitement to violence and stood for hours. However, there were no words in the tweet that the bot would have recognised. It needed a human to read the background to the pictures attached to the tweet. (If Whittle didn't know their full significance Whittle is a fool, as I've often suspected.) I don't know the background to Glinner's tweet so can't comment on that, but it's clear there are dozens of TRAs poised to report anything they think the bots will accept as breaching guidelines.

The people he was targeting (LGBT+allies planning to attend KJK's event to protest) may not see it as a joke.

Meanwhile someone else on the same day says something along the lines of "let's give KJK a big NZ welcome in Belfast"(which really is obvs a joke) and several dozen gender critical people lose their minds over it.

Rubbish, that message from Whittle is obviously not a joke, there’s literally a picture of KJK after she was attacked attached to the tweet.
Context is everything, and given the context of both tweets, I know (and everyone else can see) that Whittle’s is serious and Glinner’s isn’t.
