The question that I never find to be satisfactorily answered is this:

Are these the men we see around us every day, our colleagues, friends, brothers, partners, fathers, exes, sons, who have been somehow drawn up into the clouds to be rained back down upon us, or are they somehow newly-generated men, to be rained down in addition to the current supply?
